NCAA wants to talk with Bryce Brown about Kiffin & Co.

Why is Bryce not released if he is not playing football? If you don't show up for work then you are fired. Isn't he just taking a spot on the team that we could give to another player.

The season starts in a few weeks. Who would you give it to?

Also, sports aren't the same as regular work. That's why pros get paid millions and hold outs aren't released either.

He's not comming back, not this year or next year. At some point TN has to move on and replace him. Sports is a job at any level, if I didn't show up for High School practice then i'd be kicked off the team today.

Good luck to the 'AA in trying to get BB to make any sort of decision.... Dude took forever to commit in the first place....then took forever to leave.

The Brown's don't want this anymore than UT does!

I don't know that the Browns are that smart. His dad has been shopping him to the highest bidder for the last few years and I'm not sure he knows how much he's worth. For that matter, neither does anyone else. Yep, he had a heck of a high school career but the SEC and NFL can make a good high school running back look like a 33 1/3 album on a 45 rpm turntable.

FWIW, Kiffin was an idiot for taking him to start with. A high school kid with a felon for a manager and Miami tells him to take a hike. That ought to tell anyone something.

If Bryce received improper benefits he won't be able to play and will have to wait two years to go pro...so I doubt Arthur would try to use that as a bargaining tool.

They investigated Bryce last year too. The only explanation as to to why they are going back to the well is that the NCAA wants Kiffin BAD! I hope that Tennessee is not collateral damage during their hunt.

Tennessee will be screwed if they find trash on Kiffin. The school always gets punished, the coach gets off scott free!

This can not be good for us?

I WISH THE NCAA WOULD DO WHAT IT IS GOING TO DO AND GET IT OVER WITH.

I AM READY FOR THE SEASON TO START !!!

Do not know how much more of this i can take, it is getting closer to FOOTBALL TIME IN TENNESSEE !!!!!

Man, this is gonna ruin our upcoming 14-0 seasons. Dammit.

Seriously, in all likelihood the Kiffin mess is probably not over. We laid down with dogs last year. Don't act so surprised when we find fleas (Thanks again for that, Mike Hamilton). I wish it would go away just like everybody else but in reality, our pain may not end with UT's 2010 season record. We could be slapped with some punishment, but we're already so deep in the hole that whatever's levied by the NCAA can't hurt us much more. We're already working with a 10 scholarship penalty.

and by the way, wtf is up with the stupid 'AA abbreviation?? JUST TYPE NCAA.

Not sure what they could gain by snitching on anyone since they would have recieved the benefits. If his manager is worth his arrest record he'll already know that.

So this is what, the 9th or 10th time the sky has fallen this year alone?

Come on guys, toughen up a little...

I feel Mr. Brown is trying to use this on UT into giving his son a release.

This was my first reaction as well! i hate wishing ill on anyone and I rarely do it even when doing it sarcastically, but, if the Browns throw UT under the bus, i will be hoping and praying that a knee or two are blown out and Bryce ends up like this guy.

Gotta love that southern hospitality. If Dooley screwed Bryce over, why shouldn't Bryce screw Dooley, assuming of course, Bryce stays out of it?

well there you go:

dont ever doubt me again :birgits_giggle:

The four greatest words in the English language:

I told you so.

We'll, see what comes of this.

I have said for a long time Kiffin was all marketing. Here is the ultimate example: he let good recruits (that fit needs) and good players get away so he could score a media coup with Bryce Brown. And the fact it may come back to bite us just won't seemingly go away.

The Ncaa could go along way in cleaning up corruption if they did hold a coach accountable. Maybe Kiffin is the target they have been waiting for. He is widely despised and has an irritating habit of thumbing his nose at authority. I'm not real clear about his role in the USC violations but he was on staff at the time. Is it possible they may try to hold the individual responsible if there is a pattern? Wishful thinking?

How exactly does telling offensive linemen and quarterbacks to get lost help you land a running back? I'll hang up and wait for your insanely idiotic response.
