It's still incrementally worse, but better than the ridiculous "field of 96" thing.

Either they listened to everyone's complaints, or it was a ruse to get everyone to happily accept more play-in garbage.

If they are going to add the last 8 at large teams, I would like to see the winner of the play in game enter as the 12 seed or something. You get Ole Miss playing Memphis and that winner playing Kansas, it just doesn't seem right for Kansas.

Not sure if the play in games are going to include all teams that have no chance to win one game (like the single play in game since 2001) or the Ole Miss, Memphis, Illinois's of the world.

So they'll be able to broadcast all the games live on just four channels?

The days of being forced to watch every last second of a Kentucky game are over?

Cool.

I never watch the play in games...I don't think that they are an extremely bad idea from the perspective of the players though.

The NCAA team starts for a lot of teams when conference tournaments come around. If they lose there they are done. So if you are wanting to watch of field of 96 just start watching basketball a little more than a week before the final 64 are playing.
