Yea that massive what if is we had Awaka and Cameron Carr on this team how deep could it go? I mean, I still think we can play with anyone remaining, but missing a 2 guard like Carr—he had 26 for Baylor the time they played Arizona. And Awaka has been a key part of Arizona’s identity.

I was curious to look back and see if there was any indication of this run Iowa is on and there is zilch. They came in 3-7 in the last 10 games, including losing to Maryland and Penn State, the two worst teams in the Big 10 who both finished with losing records. They only won one game in the Big 10 tournament, so they didn’t even make the quarterfinals. The win over Florida is especially surprising as Florida was playing great ball outside of the off game against Vandy. That’s what makes this tournament fun though. There was no way anyone outside of an Iowa fan could see it coming. Sure, some picked them because they don’t like Florida, but it’s a great run by what looked like a mediocre Big 10 team.
