NCAA Tournament other games thread

Sendek should’ve run on the court. He was asking for a TO chasing the ref before Ky grabbed the ball to inbounds it

The bogus foul call on Oweh was bad enough, but not giving Sendek the timeout when he was right in the official's face was the topper. Real shame for Santa Clara to get cheated like that, but not surprising in the least.

Sendek did call a timeout before Ky took the ball out of bounds and was chasing the ref. He should’ve ran on the court but probably would’ve been given a T the way it worked out for Ky.

Traveling is rarely called now in NCAA. They want the game to be more like NBA.

So you’ll see players travel (more than 2steps and change of pivot foot) more. Plus, the refs won’t call three seconds and don’t allow “flopping,” - for most part.

Depth indeed hurt Sienna in 2nd half.
I haven't seen a travel or 3 second call this year.

Kentucky has been getting favorable calls for 50+ years now.

Nothing new.

They also said that Sendek was trying to call timeout and I’m guessing he would have told them to foul. Refs either didn’t see him or didn’t allow it.

And KY seemed to get a foul call every time down. Typical. But Santa Clara really messed up at the end of regulation.
Every fan in America was expecting the coach to call timeout, but the refs avoided looking at the coach. Got it.

Just not sure how a player goes from the first pic here to the hash without even 1/10th coming off.
And Sendek was trying to call timeout chasing the ref well before Ky inbounded the ball.
Just all around bs.
Because he was already running and there’s a reaction time for the scorer to start the clock. That part isn’t BS. The timeout thing sure.

Miami Ohio and Wright State played each other during the regular season. Miami won by 7 and dominated most of the game. Wright State had to make a late surge to get into single digits.

I think the clock may have been a tad late as he saw and heard the timeout being called.

That's not a bad point but getting a TO there would have precluded the run up the court and the shot would have been from beyond half court. Seems like your odds are better that way than a free throw and intentional miss and tip in. Probably six of one ......
