NCAA Secret Agenda Against UT and SEC?

The NCAA is hell bent on leveling the playing field for small schools. They go out of their way to get them in now.

The play in games should be exclusive to the 8 teams with the worst SOS.

I am absolutely convinced that the NCAA Tournament selection committee is biased against the SEC, largely because of the SEC's dominance in football. Call it what you want, conspiracy, trutherism, whatever, it is a real bias.

Tennessee should have been selected in each of the past two NCAA Tournaments and another reason why we got screwed was unofficial sanctions stemming from Bruce Peal. The NCAA and people on the committee do not like Bruce.

The fact that we had to play a "play-in game" at the 11th seed in what was supposed to be the most difficult bracket in the Tourney, points out how blatant the bias is against the Vols.

The bottom line is that there should have been another 2 or maybe even 3 teams from the SEC in this tournament.

You've, uh, got just a little bit of something on your tinfoil hat.

A 22 win Mizzou had more business in the tourney than a 19 win Neb, or a 20 win K St.

Not saying they would have made a lot of noise, but they should have got a bid.

Really? I disagree with you. They were ranked #20 at one time but disappeared. I agree that they 'shoulda' been an NCAAT team, but I aint sheddin no tears for them. Arkansas shoulda/coulda been one to. UT is and we are still in the game. I could'nt care less who else from the SEC 'coulda' been in the Dance. I think they all look real nice in the NIT.

UT could meet Ky in the elite 8. the ncaa usually seeded conferences with 4 teams or less where they could not potentially play each other until the final 4. the NCAA never expected that to happen, so yes a bias exists.

normally the ncaa had a bias against teams who have not played well historically in the NCAA tournament, But KY has won mulitple championships.

Don't let anyone bull**** you and tell you that the SEC is a bad basketball conference.

The SEC is undefeated in this tournament and has set two of it's teams up in the toughest regional of all of them. They were set up to fail and don't be surprised if one of the SEC teams in the Midwest Regional makes the final four.

Look back and over the past 10 years, 3 SEC teams have hung national championship banners in their gyms.

The SEC as a whole is better than the A10 and the AAC.

It's kind of in a 2nd tier among the Big East and Pac 12

Did you forget to take your meds? No one out there is intentionally holding the SEC or Tennessee down. But, as far as the SEC goes, there is a perception that it's a football conference only.

I felt like Arkansas should have made the NCAAT too. But, they didn't. Maybe with the success of the three teams that did make it this season, the committee will have more respect for the SEC next season.

Northeast bias in the basketball community. No doubt about it. Did the A10 really have 6 teams in? An 11 seed play in team beat the brakes off a 6 seed. Can't convince me there is no bias.

More telling is that the 11 seed was a 6 POINT FAVORITE. How does that happen?

Having a worse RPI than other At-Large teams is why we weren't in the tournament.

Uhm no

Our RPI was better than: Dayton, Arizona State, Oklahoma State, Nebraska and Kansas State.

Uhm no back to you.

Last season Dayton, Arizona State and Nebraska all had worse RPIs than Tennessee, BUT they didn't make it either.

As for Oklahoma State and Kansas State, they had RPI rankings of 28 and 23, respectively. Tennessee's RPI was 66.

So, what are you talking about? I said we didn't make it in the NCAA tournament because our RPI wasn't good enough. We had an RPI of 66 last year. Since they only take 68 teams and there are lots of automatic qualifiers which wouldn't make it otherwise, 66 simply isn't good enough to get in.

So, what year are you talking about? I think you may be referring to this year, but that makes no sense either. I clearly stated that we didn't get in because our RPI was too low. You apparently rebutted by listing a bunch of teams that got in this year...but WE DID TOO.

Tennessee is in the NCAA tournament this year, so obviously I wasn't referring to this year. Yet, your rebuttal lists teams that got in this year.

Maybe it's just me, but I think you are confused.

Several items support this theory: (a)Black helicopters have been seen circling TBA, Rupp Arena and certainly around Memorial Coliseum (though they could be police helicopters); (b) Secret meetings held leading up to Selection Sunday (though it could simply have been the selection committee); (c) Tactical training seen occurring by people dressed I stripped shirts near basketball venues (could be stretching by officials preparing for games). There is evidence everywhere to support this conspiracy theory. I have changed the names to protect the innocent!
