I am absolutely convinced that the NCAA Tournament selection committee is biased against the SEC, largely because of the SEC's dominance in football. Call it what you want, conspiracy, trutherism, whatever, it is a real bias.

Tennessee should have been selected in each of the past two NCAA Tournaments and another reason why we got screwed was unofficial sanctions stemming from Bruce Peal. The NCAA and people on the committee do not like Bruce.

The fact that we had to play a "play-in game" at the 11th seed in what was supposed to be the most difficult bracket in the Tourney, points out how blatant the bias is against the Vols.

The bottom line is that there should have been another 2 or maybe even 3 teams from the SEC in this tournament.

Or we could thank our lucky stars we had the opportunity to play Umass, followed by a team that is a lower seed than us...

2 or 3 additional SEC teams? Uh, how about no?

Or the Vols are not even in the "Big Tourny" with this conspiracy. Win and advance.... take care of your business and let everything else work itself out.

Yeah rt. That's why the head compliance person hired Bruce @ Auburn. They really have it out for us.

They hired the guy they wanted us to fire...is that showing us love? :eek:hmy:

if everyone is biased, no one would have been picking tennessee in their brackets. nothing that has happened has surprised anyone. most acknowledge the talent tennessee has.

they just didn't play like it much of the season, which is not the fault of the ncaa.

It's all politics. Duke will always be seeded high and play home games cause they're Duke. That's just how it is.

Northeast bias in the basketball community. No doubt about it. Did the A10 really have 6 teams in? An 11 seed play in team beat the brakes off a 6 seed. Can't convince me there is no bias.

Obviously. The point is that we are sitting pretty, and people still take the opportunity to b**ch about it.

I am not complaining about how it worked out for us. The play in game gave us momentum, got the jitters out and gave us an overrated Northeast A10 team to clobber. Couldn't be happier. Mercer could be tougher than many on here believe, but that is expected as we go deeper.

Agree. But have to ask OP who would be those 3, 2, or 1 additional teams....I agree there is a bias but we had zero teams below us that qualified and we almost weren't good enough....

A 22 win Mizzou had more business in the tourney than a 19 win Neb, or a 20 win K St.

Not saying they would have made a lot of noise, but they should have got a bid.

I don't believe there is a secret agenda. Their main/only agenda it to make money. Hope I see their demise in my lifetime.
