Except their settle won a title and herman was sent packing.....Unless Orgeron pulls a rabbit outta his butt this season I could fully see LSU canning him. Part of it will be the timing. As Texas changed coaches last year and most of the other really big dogs have coaches that are secure. Only ones that might come open would be Michigan depending on what happens with Harbaugh, and maybe a UF or Oklahoma if Mullen or Riley bolt to the pros. In other words, they may have the chess board to themselves.
If that happens though, I think the Tigers will go big game hunting-for someone bigger and younger than Briles. I don't think the boosters there have still gotten over whiffing on Tom Hermann the last go around when they had to settle for Orgeron so they will surely be foaming at the mouth this time.

Most here seem to want Fulmer backCannot argue with you that things probably turned out best for the Tigers.
2019 was a special year for LSU-no doubt about that. The number of things which had to come together in a perfect storm for that all to happen though? May not be seen again for years and years.
My point being that the more time passes and Orgeron keeps putting up middling results, how long is it before the Tigers decide that 2019 was basically their version of Auburns year with Cam. Everything just bounced their way.
Expectations there are just too high for the Tiger faithful to accept 8-4, 7-5, etc for very long.

I certainly would not say most. After the Pruitt debacle, I think most of Fat Phils most ardent supporters have admitted it's time for him to be put out to pasture.
My analogy was more with Orgeron and Chizik I guess.
For schools that really want to and expect to win, a natty only buys you so many years of poor results. Chizik got what, a season and a half?
I am just not sure the Tiger faithful are going to accept consecutive .500 or one game above that kind of season.
