Even though the baseball team was a part of the investigation by the NCAA, evidently there were no allegations levied against them. This is good news for the team, and really good news for CTR. Now that this is behind them, let's move on and take the series this weekend! GO VOLS!!!! First pitch is Friday afternoon at 3:07pm.

First, a baseball letter could come separately. Second, I never expected baseball would be involved.

Third, fire the slob anyway. He's a discredit to baseball, to the university and to, er, Jesus, yeah, Jesus.

Can we transfer all the allegations to the baseball team so basketball and football are in the clear...wishful thinking.

As I said months ago, there were minor alleagations against baseball and they were disproven quickly.

There is zero possibility of an additional letter. The baseball issue is dead and has been for some time.

Baseball was officially cleared in the letter. No infractions found. Good news on this front!

Go VOLS!

I am glad that baseball is clear. Hopefully Raleigh can get the team going this year.

If there was no orange involved... I could care less... baseball is just not my cup of tea. Baseball is a lot like watching Bowling or Golf on TV. Give me Basketball or Football or even Soccer. At least in Soccer there is constant action and no break. If baseball wants to capture my attention, put a shot clock on pitching and make it like 12 seconds. Baseball is a dying sport in our country.

I believe that with the new BBCOR regulations on bats, offensive production will suffer, therefore, causing attendance to suffer which will further the gap between our youth and this great game. The NCAA will eventually go back to the BESR ratings to try to revive attendance to baseball games.

If there was enough wood for bat companies to outfit college teams, they would go to wood.

The idea with the new bats is to make them perform more like wood to help make the curve to professional baseball smaller for the hitters.

The stats for the first week of college baseball have shown there has been an average of 1.1 fewer runs scored per game than the total from the first week of last season. It's not proving to be significant for the scoring of runs, but has changed the manner in which they are scored.

I've never bought into this "not enough wood" argument. Could be accurate, I dunno. Marucci says there is plenty as does LS reps. MLB has approved 6 species and bamboo bats are making stride. entire states have gone to wood bats (MS, AZ, NY, others)

How baseball bat is made - material, manufacture, making, history, used, product, Raw Materials, The Manufacturing Process of baseball bat, Quality Control, The Future

Prolly so but how many CCB players advance to the MiLB? Methinks the scouts get the advantage here. :p Off season, most CBB players train and hit with wood especially in pro prep leagues.

Interesting, thanks. :hi:

There's not constant action in football. Great argument.

you either enjoy the game of baseball or you don't. not much middle ground there. I have always played/watched baseball and really like it.

Retarded!

Baseball is the largest and richest sport in the country. Thats why the salaries are so outrageous. Football is the most poplular right now obviously, but with so few games baseball still generates way more money. For example, St.louis had over 3.3 million in attendance last year where top NFL teams had around 640,000. While football tv ratings are higher, baseball has 10 times as many games, so they end up making more here too. Basketball....come on.....basketball is what is dying, the college game is the only popular form. Pro baseball is way bigger than pro basketball. So that means that baseball is the richest, largest, and 2nd most popular...hardly dying!

On another note, if you dont like baseball then ****!

I'm trying more and more to educate myself on quality baseball. I plan on making as many Tennessee games as possible this year.

Good for you TennesseeFan07!

And to DaDuRkEr, I guess you didnt notice that baseball has better attendance at pre-season baseball games than NBA season games. Way better, almost every one is sold out!
