My search did not find this so I thought I would post it

NCAA spokeswoman Stacey Osburn said rules stipulate that "An institution cannot contact a student-athlete enrolled at another institution without permission from the current school. A currently enrolled student-athlete who transfers must sit out a year before becoming eligible to compete. An enrolled student-athlete is one who is officially registered and enrolled in a minimum, full-time program of studies in any quarter or semester of an academic year, as certified by the registrar or admissions office, provided the student was present at the institution on the opening day of classes."

Oh how sweet it would be! Knowing the two slimes Oregeron would claim he was employed by USC and Kitten was still a Vols coach and that Kitten gave him permission!:furious3:

According to the ncaa site, I went to the rules. (in simple speak) One rule does state that once a student is on that campus, they cannot be contacted by an outside school.

USCgate!!!!!

Oh I also heard on one of the radio shows today that Lawyers had been contacted about Eddie O's actions. I hope both are true!

Is this not a dead period as well? I thought contacting a recruit period is against NCAA rules right now.

A coach can make one call during his time but no more. The problem may come from contacting enrolled kids or using UT phones to do so. Even if nothing comes of it it will b nice to see them in perceived trouble their first week! lol

He was not at USC at the time! He was at UT...so unless its against the rules for someone at UT to contact a UT student. Then nothing will come of it

So they want our recruits....well we should put all this NCCAA suff right out there so ALL the recruits can see just what's in store when they sign with Lame & Co.

Give them lying, lowlifes at USC the DEATH PENALTY. Take away scholarships and take away the 1 1/2 national titles that they cheated to get. O and Lane are fakes and no recruit should believe a word that comes out of their mouths, and Monte is not much better.

technically once they accepted the USC offer they were no longer UT employees.

I would love the NCAA to prevent them from taking any recruits they talked to that night...

I'm gonna turn Ed Orgeron in right now. I was talking to Corey Miller on campus during a visit the other day and his cell phone rang. I asked him who it was. He said it was Ed Orgeron. That's an NCAA violation. It's funny that Ed Orgeron had to cheat and he still didn't get him.

Does any of this sound familiar......

The regents presidents had a meeting today, annual thing and they pretty much blasted him for it, though did not mention his name specifically. He will get his day. Remember he is not only a coach but a member of the staff and can be put on probation himself.

this would be a perfect way to start them off at their new jobs, with an NCAA infraction. Though even if this doesn't turn into an infraction we all know that at USC it won't be long before they do, especially under Kiffin

Orgeron was already at the facilities in California at the time of the calls being placed. This was confirmed on air by ESPN reporter. Although i think the argument of physical location is mute.

O was representing USC and offered USC scholarships to players who were enrolled and already on campus at Tennessee, if that is not violation then the NCAA has lost all credibility in my book and College Football no longer deserves the name College.

UTK is not a Tennessee Board of Regents school. Those are MTSU, ETSU, Memphis, community colleges etc. UTK, UTC, UTM are in a different system.
