NCAA Football 2008: Was it Worth It?

Whats the final vedrict on this game? I've heard two sides. One that thinks its great and a huge step forward from the past few years. And the second being after awhile of playing it, a few have come to dislike it(check the ncaa 08 errors thread). I've played the ps2 version and haven't been that impressed. If anything, there seems like there are LESS features than there were added last year. The only reason I would buy it would be because of the online play. Just wanted to know what some of you guys think about each version(ps3, xbox 360, and ps2)

This is one of the best college football games I've playing in awhile. It represents the largest jump in progress for the series in many years. (360 version)

So far this game is second on my all time NCAA list.

1. NCAA 06
2. NCAA 08
3. NCAA 03

I have the ps2 version and it's only worth it because they now have the right cal fight song. For a vol fan i would say it's definetly not worth it.

I have the 360 version and love it. I enjoy the online play the most, especially when i find another player that likes to run realistic games. I have had no isses at all with my game

The turnovers are driving me crazy on this. Seems like 50% of the time your QB scrambles he fumbles.

The things that bug me in the ps2 version are as follows:

-hardly any new features

-the increased amount of turnovers

-crazy amount of dropped passes

-glitches(anybody had this problem? i get a roughing the passer call that goes my way, so you'd think i'd be glad to get a free 15 yards. my qb, for some reason, gets pissed and starts yelling in the refs face so, as a result, I get an unsportsmanlike penalty which negates roughing the passer call!)

-the absolute worst thing in this game ,though, are the penalties. who had the idea that upping the dosage of flags thrown in the game by 80% was a good one? the roughing the passer call, in particular, has become the most annoying thing on this game.

i haven't had any problems with turnovers or penalties

one thing i've noticed is that sometimes when they show a close up of a player in a dark uniform, it looks like the uniform is made of silk or satin because it's all shinny

I wore out my 06' version. That is probably tied w/ this years so far as best of all time.

yeah and if the qb gets any pressure he throws an INT. also the number of sacks that happen immediately after the ball is hiked is up 1000%.

The problem I have the few times I have played it (besides turnovers) is how the QB bullets every single pass. Its hard to get him to lob the ball up in the air like on previous games. Nevertheless, its still better than 07

2nd best football game ever played ofr me only behind super tecmo bowl that games was the first to keep stats i loved it and i love this.

I'm not too big on it... At least EA Sports shows the kind of attention that NCAA deserved to its other football game.

Come back, 2k football. Come back. :bad:

I've started my first seaon with West Virgina. CB #23 have no clue what his name is, but he's fast as all get out with speed of 90 agility of like 88 and acceleration of like 91 so this dude can haul!! But anyways, he's on the far end on the left side of defense (looking at the FG posts he'd be on the right). I get him, hit triangle (ps2), which lets you get right behind him or w/e for a closer view, i run right by the defeneder (kind of swing out a little) i hit triange again, which makes him jump and everytime it just knocks it down and sometime ill even scoop and score for 2 points.. Very rarely though.. Sometimes ill make a mistake and they'll get it off just in time.. I play on Heisman level.. So it has nothing to do with level..

So triangle get, or y on 360, gets you behind the defender... Or did I misunderstand you... That sounds really interesting.

I may have worded it wrong, but on playstation 2 when your blocking a field goal, or a punt you can hit triangle to get behind your seleteced person for a more realistic view i guess you could say? lol But its like right behind the guy.. lol.. Anyways, you may experience the same thing, i don't know about ps3 or on 360, but when you return a punt or a kickoff, as soon as you recieve the ball it goes in the mode im talking about.. lol..
