While I don't agree w/Cowherd that Butch is a glorified gym teacher. He's just an average coach. When u add in cliches, then he's below average. We need a more w/ less HBC. Mullen seems to fit the bill.

This came to me the other night. Probably too many hours playing NCAA 14. There I retreat to where the Vols are as good as I can make to them. My thought is...some (a very few) coaches are like player controlled teams. i.e. because they are at the controls the team is better than the sum of the parts. However most, like Butch, are simply like his CPU controlled self. Just the result of some precalculated algorithm. Looking at the coaching candidates. Who's Player and who's CPU?

Um, what?!

I get what you are saying - who gives a roster added value.

Player - Kelly, Patterson, Venables, Mullen

CPU - Gruden, Petrino.

Not sure on the others.

A healthy team 121 and me behind the controls even on Heisman and I have no doubt in my mind I run the table and win the national championship. Hell I did it with Dooley teams that didn't have no where near the talent team 121 does. First thing is get rid of the damn sideline trashcans. My cliche is win. Put plain and simple, and I loved playing the Mike or Sam in that game so dk Jr or bituli is probably going to win the Heisman because I was absolute hell on short routs and run support. God I miss Ncaa.

I always played as one of the DEs, depending on the situation. In my early days of playing NCAA football, I played from the linebacker position quite a bit.

Simply some real-life coaches are the equivalent of a player controlled team in NCAA 14, the team is better because the're controlled by a good player. Like a where a Player controlled team can win the Natty with some team like Air Force. Butch, however is equivalent to a CPU controlled team... just the product of his programmed algorithm. Just average. We need to find a Player coach. To me that's Mullen.

Good game overall, but it can't seem to simulate the 25 season-ending injuries UT suffers every year. That would probably balance the game out with the silly recruiting.

In other words, who can adjust and improvise (player) and who is by-the-book gameplan (CPU)? That's what I gathered, at least..

Being said, I'd say Patterson, Petersen, Kelly, and Dabo (Venables) are some of the most "player" controlled and Butch, Mark Richt, Kirk Firentz, Tom Herman are very CPU.

Someone has chugged off to fantasyland one too many times.

Find a chalk board. Write, "Video games have nothing to do with real life" 1000 times.

Go to the kitchen. Pour yourself a chocolate milk and microwave a hot pocket. You earned it. Go outside, That warm bright thing in the sky is called the sun. It won't melt you.

some head coaches know their limitations and leave the game strategy to someone who's better at it...offense and defense...Butch knows very little about both, but thinks he really does...why do the assistants who leave here seem to do better at other schools...hope he figures it out, but of course, it may already be too late...and,

GO VOLS...BEAT THE GAMECOCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think what the OP means is Butch Jones needs the mirror glitch, or the timeout/personal foul glitch to even have a chance at winning.

I think the O'Bannon brothers should be sentenced to death for their NCAA lawsuit and the resulting demise of the EA Sports NCAA college football video game series. Either that or ostracized from society and sentenced to live on a desserted island by themselves with no contact with the outside world for the rest of their lives. That's not to say I disagree with their stance that student athletes should share in the largess created by college sports. I just hate them for killing off the NCAA football video game series.

O'Bannon didn't kill the franchise. I would imagine he'd prefer that it continue. The NCAA refuses to license it.

But it's their fault. Had they not made this lawsuit. Then the thousands of players who say that Jersey number or player that resembles me. Therefore I want a share. At that point it's just not profitable. Granted I know they could make it generic. Every player and every team could have same ratings. But that's no fun. Vanderbilt having same ratings as Bama or CLEMSON or USC?
