Ok, so has anyone started updating the roster with actual player names? Is the Tennessee roster pretty easy to figure out who is who (meaning the numbers all match up).

Thanks

I will either use FK or DT because i want the player that are added like G jones and others Fk was hoping to have his done by today. BTW freak have you seen the multi usb port thing at walmart im wondering if i can use that to upload my rosters instead of buying transfer kit or Docking station for it. They are 29 bucks at walmart giving you 4 more ports plus that will read a flash drive.

I've heard that the flash drive will not work, but I hope I'm wrong. I have a transfer kit but it would be a lot easier if a flash drive could do it.

BTW I found you an avatar :)

You read the headline right. apparently there is a block in the software that does not allow roster sharing from profile to profile on the XBox 360 version of the game. Here is the story from 5w-g:
"Ready for sports-gaming Armageddon? EA Sports may have some explaining to do.
NCAA Football 08, the highly-anticipated football game by EA Sports, has found its way onto some stores' shelves, despite the fact that it's not supposed to be there until the 17th. Such is the nature of street dates.
Nevertheless, the major issue that's certain to rankle sports gamers is not the seemingly-random availability of the game, but this:
On the Xbox 360, NCAA Football 08 roster files cannot be shared. At all. They can't be transferred from profile to profile, even on the very same console.
In Microsoft's Spring Update to the Xbox 360, the Redmond-based giant chose to lock down (with no prior warning) thousands of Xbox 360 consoles that posted save files in an effort to tamp down cheating and discourage the use of Datel's unlicensed-but-legal Xchange device. Caught in the web were roster-makers; sports gamers that have no specific interest in cheating, but are instead interested in making their games as realistic as possible and sharing their efforts with fellow sports fans to enhance their enjoyment of the game as well.
These gamers form a community; no different than the "modding" communities prevalent - and often embraced by game publishers - on the PC. In the case of NCAA Football, gamers often work together at large, discussion-board-based sites like OperationSports.com to name the unnamed players in the game. The NCAA, per its regulations as an amateur organization, does not allow players' names in retail versions of their licensed products, but regardless of manufacturer, the NCAA has always permitted these players to be edited in-game, allowing dedicated fans to do the (non-profit) legwork for themselves; building knowledgeable real-life fans in the process.
But as Mark explained in May, this capricious decision by Microsoft risked fracturing this user base, potentially driving customers away from the Xbox 360 and towards the rival PlayStation 3 instead - something that I discussed with Microsoft's Larry "Major Nelson" Hyrb back in May. Unless the PS3 version of the same game restricts transferring roster saves as well - and that may yet be the case - that day may have arrived. Friday the 13th may be very unlucky for Microsoft indeed - if this is their decision. If it's EA's, however, then many questions will need to be answered, and quickly - although, in that case, you can expect the blame to quickly be placed on the somewhat-faceless NCAA itself.
Since last year's game didn't discriminate when it came to rosters and user profiles, it seems possible that Microsoft's newly-added strictures on file sharing may be responsible for the new limitation, but I would stress that this has not yet been confirmed by either Microsoft or Electronic Arts. I will attempt to contact both EA and Microsoft today (it's 3:45 a.m. now), but with E3 in full swing (and damage control forthcoming), I wouldn't expect an immediate response."
Good news can be found as Fairdale Kings has stated he has a fix for the problem that should work. We have no further news on this but be sure to keep it tuned in right here at MaddenMania for further updates on this matter.

Here is the latest update... this update is dedicated to the people that were quoted saying "It only takes 45 seconds to type your progress..."

So here's the progress:

COMPLETED:
ACC
Big East
SEC
Sun Belt
WAC

Before the night is far from over and I will be attempting to complete the Big 12 & Big Ten. I'm averaging about 3 teams an hour. That would mean that I have a very long night still ahead. Also, I may make this an all-nighter... regardless, I'm at about the half-way point. Probably won't be another update now until late tomorrow night. Also, I've shut-down all forms of communication with everyone on MSN Messenger, AIM, Yahoo & I have signed out of XBox Live because I keep getting interrupted with questions like "How far along are you?" or "How do you like the game?"

I'll answer those questions right now... I have NOT played one single game. The only thing that I've seen is the Roster Management screens. Like I said in my last post, I wasted one full day with the testing process and that probably cost me about three conferences so I am trying to make-up for that lost time. Late Tuesday may not be impossible but I'm really feeling that Wednesday will be the release date for the rosters.

Tutorial for NCAA Football 08 Rosters on 360

Hello...this is bighuskermav from utopia.

I used the xsata to transfer the rosters and wanted to share how it's done (it's not hard but I couldn't remember how I did it last year so I had to do a lot of reading and googling...)

To give credit where credit is do, this post is just a rehash of one that I found on google... It's from a post by a guy named cesco here (http://www.sportsgamer.com/forums/pl...live-07-a.html )... I'm not trying to steal his instructions or take credit for them, but it's easier than re-typing what's already been typed.

1) Download the program called XIC 1.0.. I can't find this on the 360gamesaves.com website, but here's another link: MAXCONSOLE - Playstation 2 Playstation 3 Xbox 360 Nintendo DS PSP Gamecube Nintendo WII Revolution - To the MAX! You need to use winrar to extract it.

I also have a copy if that link stops working (just ask for it here)

2) Take FK"s .z36 file, run the XIC program and convert the .z36 file in a .bin file. It should be a file of approximately 64 Mb in size.

3) Run Xplorer 360. Click DRIVE -> OPEN -> IMAGE and open the .bin file you have just created. This is the image file of FK's Memory Unit. On the left side you can find PARTITION 0 and PARTITION 1. Double click PARTITION 1, then CONTENT. Next you find a folder called E0000557... This is FK's ID on the 360. Open it. Next folder is 4541081A. This is the ID of NCAA 2008 on every Xbox 360. Open it. Click once on subfolder 00000001 and finally you have a file on the right side pane called Roster-FKRosters. Right-click and go to extract to save to a place of your choice. Just remember where you saved it for the next step.

4) With the 360 TURNED OFF, connect your pc and the Xsata USB port. Turn on the 360, pThe console now doesn't see the HD, because this is in control of the PC. Run Xplorer 360, DRIVE -> OPEN -> HARDDRIVE OR MEMCARD... If at this point you receive some kind of error, please refer to 360gamesaves forum for troubleshooting. Now on the left side you have PARTITION0, PARTITION2 and PARTITION 3. This is the 360 HD. Open in sequence PARTITION3, CONTENT folder, your ID FOLDER (the one beginning with E0000...), NCAA 2008 FOLDER (named 4541081A) and 00000001 folder. Now on the right side you should have all kind of saves you made in NCAA 2008. ON THE RIGHT SIDE right click on the white background and select INSERT FILE. Now select the file you extracted at the end of point 3).

5) Turn off the Xbox 360, unplug the USB cable and then power up the 360 and NCAA 2008. NOW, GO INTO FILE MANAGEMENT AND RENAME THE ROSTER FILE TO SOMETHING OTHER THAN THE ONE WITH FK'S NAME IN IT. Make sure you delete the original! For good measure, go in and make a slight change to a scrub's name (in case you're as paranoid as I am).

This works!!!
***I've yet to test it.***

Ok well none of the gamestops within 50 miles of my house have ever heard of this. Actually one guy had heard of it and told me they were discontinued a year ago.
