If things go according to plan things are getting ready to become very different on The recruiting trail.

There are two major differences we are about to see regarding NCAA recruiting rules and I believe they will favor this new staff for a few reasons.

1) off campus contact with recruits is basically going to be allowed a year earlier.

Our staff loves offering kids early and now we can make contact with them off campus sooner.

2) types of communication and recruiting materials are going to cease to be regulated.

Our staff seems to be very up to date with the modern age of communicating and I think this change will allow for creative ways of getting out our message to recruits.

These changes should take place in August of this summer if the NCAA passes these new deregulation rules as expected.

This is a good idea. Shouldn't regulate people's social media accounts.

I agree that is needed for sure but most people don't understand that this topic is about much more. Recruiting is going to change much more than just social media. Recruiting materials are no longer going to have rules surrounding their format along with contacting kids can happen a full year earlier. Big changes

I'm sure parents will probably hate this idea.

I for one don't like a number of the things that are coming. The biggest one I don't like is that full fledge recruiting pressure is coming for kids now on Sept 1st of the junior year. That means the 2015 kids we are recruiting are going to get visits this September from coaches and the pressure that comes with that. IMO that's too early and kids flipping commitments is going to be even more common place than ever before.

Completely agree.

I really thought this topic would get more conversation than it has because I think it has the potential to really favor us.

Jones prides himself in being early to the recruiting party and now that party can begin much earlier.

Also I think with our huge recruiting budget this staff will create many different kinds of extravagant recruiting materials that weren't within the rules before this deregulation,

Just had a good conversation with a NCAA official and perhaps the biggest new rule here is this::

Kids that now need to get thier core GPA up to a certain level(2.3) will have retake needed classes BEFORE their SR heat starts.

In the past we have seen kids Retake classes in order to get eligible during their senior year and even the summer before. Now that won't happen.

Big difference!!

This doesn't sound like deregulation to me.

VQ has an article up about this subject. Maybe I wasn't the only one that thought this was news worthy.
