NCAA declares Bru McCoy Eligible

Um, no, it was fully USC. It was said repeatedly that USC just had to sign a form and all was good, but they turned it over to the NCAA. USC deserves all the hate on this one. They held this up.

They would BOTH be guilty, just at two different levels. To me the NCAA would be worse for allowing USC to drop the original ball.

Would like to thank USC & NCAA for granting Bru eligibility. Never hurts to take the high road & show what a class program TN is. Thanks Chancellor Plowman & AD White for moving all programs forward.

You take the high road and I'll take the low road. **** those **** ** *******.

I just watched his USC highlights and I don’t get it. Looks like an average football player.

He’ll be the highest ranked receiver we’ve had in 20 years. At 6 3” 220, it’s hard to look speedy or shifty, but he’ll be physically superior to every CB he faces this year. He has the potential to change games for us, and free up space for Tillman. He’s also an exceptional blocker. Heupel says the best blocking WR on the team. Saban referred to him as the best athlete in his class, and offered him at LB and WR. I’d say he’s pretty good.

He may be all world this year and I hope so. I just didn’t see it in the particular highlights I watched. No burst nor was he elusive.

Again, 6 3” 220 receivers don’t look fast. He gets position and catches contested balls over athletic CB’s. He runs a 4.6 40. That’s not slow for that frame.

Again what did Ced’s highlight tape look like before heup… Bru is hungry and greatful he is about to be a bully… if Hyatt makes the jump that reports have indicated then we will have the best Wr trio in the conference.

I didn’t see him run through anyone either. I’m not at all trying to bash the kid. I just didn’t see anything that would indicate he’s special.

I don’t know what highlights you’re watching. He’s only played six games since HS in the 20 season. I feel comfortable saying you’re going to like him.

You should do some research on his situation. Was completely set up by a crazy girlfriend.

Why did Bru McCoy leave USC? Court filings offer some answers
Kinda cherry picked the quotes in the article. I’m shocked to see that the accused’s lawyers say he didn’t do anything wrong. Shocked.

Research from the article tells me that the hospital called the police to report DV. Not the girl. Not someone that heard a story. A medical professional that is trained to look for signs of DV after doing a physical examination of the patient. They didn’t think it was solely a crazy girlfriend.

Research also tells me that a court in California upheld her restraining order (that is still current and goes through January 2023) and required Bru to pay $40,000 for damages ‘caused by the abuse’. So, they didn’t think it was just a crazy girlfriend.

So now, a medical professional and a judge both felt like there was something to this story, but Bru’s lawyers say he’s innocent? The only reason charges weren’t filed is because this girl decided not to take part anymore. Not unheard of in the world of DV.

No one really knows what happened, especially on a TN message board, but statistics would show that men accused of DV, with past documented violence (as reported in the article shared), with current restraining orders, are very likely to be guilty.

Is Bru guilty? I don’t know. Is he innocent? I don’t know either. I’m definitely not going to rush to defend someone accused of DV and ordered by a court to pay for damages caused by his abuse just because they make my football team better though.

Good for you. You halo's drooping.
I’m saying I don’t know where Bru is in this. I don’t know if he’s guilty or innocent.

The original post I replied to shared a link to a story and the poster said it was just a made up deal by a crazy girlfriend and then quoted Bru’s lawyers saying he’s innocent and admonished others to do their research. I just read the article and saw a lot more red flags than that poster made it sound like, from the very article the poster shared.

Not trying to be self righteous, just trying to look at the larger picture.

I’ve read other articles addressing the same subject and didn’t stain any flags red. I’ll call it “research” and retire undefeated.

‘’Bru McCoy” on youtube. I hope your right!
Excellent detective work. Here’s another non-shifty, not very quick guy with an almost identical set of measurables, and his highlights. He is arguably one of the best ever. Bru obviously may not ascend to being a Probowl/Hall of Fame receiver, but most scouts see him as a first round pick with a long career. We’ll both root for him, and see how it goes.
