Yes, that is one of the things they are doing. But what does only allowing players a 5-yard running start have to do with how far the ball goes? It's not the kicker they're limiting.

well im just referring about moving it from the 30 to the 35..im sure it will result in more touchbacks, i guess the no running start is for safety but its not like its gonna slow guys down that are running 40's in the 4 second range

Really? I had no idea.

The line between tough and crazy has always moved in football. I could cite about 10 things off the top of my head that used to be legal but now aren't because they were deemed to be dangerous.

really you're on... Name them, all ten...

Agreed. That's what I was saying in the first post...just doesn't make any sense.

what???you don't know the difference from a kick off,and a punt?man, you need to study the game a little bit more before you start posting.:hi:
Context my friend. Maybe you should learn how important it can be and also reading the entire thread might help you get it.

I personally think it's the right thing. I don't particulary care about kickoffs anyway and agree with what you say, put it at the 25 or 30 to start with. I have a brother who has major concussion issues. For those who can't see it, it's bad. Now he's healthy right now, but if he gets another one, he's putting his life at risk, and had to quit sports. I'm all for protecting the athlete.

I forgot what article it is, but two journalists made the case that football will be disbanded within 50-75 years.

See, we can give everyone two flags and they put one in each back pocket. Then you have to grab the flag.

I can see this

People are getting weaker by the generation

Question...don't punt returns have a greater risk of safety concerns than kickoffs? All fair catching is next on the list.
