Got an early copy this weekend. Haven't put too much time into but I have played a game or two.

If you want to know how the gameplay is, put in any of the last 3 or 4 years versions in your system and play it. Gameplay seems virtually unchanged so far. Typical EA. Haven't fired up a franchise yet, but there seems to be some different training drills added (ohhh, ahhhh).

Maybe after a few more games and some franchise time I'll start seeing the differences.

Not real sure about the Race for Heisman. It throws you into that as soon as you start the game. However, my buddy and I were just wanting to thrown down on some football, so I skipped over it.

Well, I just finished my first head to head game. My thoughts:

Graphics may be slightly better but not by much.

There are a few small added tidbits and the overall presentation is a little better.

The "impact player" is a new feature. Not sure how it will affect play yet though.

Playing head to head the passing seemed very easy.....to easy. You have to take control of the DB to have a chance. Letting the computer control the DB will get you killed (at least that's how it was for my first game).

The training camp mode looks interesting but I haven't tried that yet.
We played UT vs Michigan and before the game Corso put on his Smokey head to pick the vols---pretty funny.

I almost forgot, Tennessee's impact players are Allen, Simon, and Riggs.

decent. sounds about like ESPN. To be honest I didn't pay a lot of attention until I saw Corso put on a Smokey head.

I just tried the Heisman mode. It starts you out as a high school player. You get to pick your position. You then compete in drills and depending on how many points you get you get scholarship offers. My first try was from Iowa, Louisville, and Ohio State. Of course you have the option of walking on anywhere else which is what I did. You then check into a dorm and the season stars. That's about as far as I got.

The training is sorta cool. You can pick from 4 dills like option, oklahoma, and a couple more.

The gameplay seems to be pretty unchanged except for the impact players.

What are the Vols ranked? Does it have the all orange uni's as an alternate? Does it still have the signs? oh, yeah, and is the blocking better and more intelligent? In the past, sometimes lineman or tailbacks will just stand and let a guy run right through.

I took off last year, but there were lines at the mall. I'm going to work tommorrow and just pick it up hopefully without any long wait...

I think the Vols are ranked second. From what I heard the AI is about the same. If the gameplay isn't improved, I will be very upset. The AI in NCAA Football is pretty terrible.

I've always hated how when you are at the goal line, instead of running into the endzone the tailback will just stop and stand straight up right at the line as if he hit a brick wall. It just looks very unnatural.

Well. . . . .Crap. Just found out that you had to "pre-order" to pick up 2006 at EB Games. Anybody know a 24-hour store in west K-town???
