The first details for NCAA Football 08 were released today. The bigggest new addition seems to be the Leadership control feature, whatever that will be. Here is the official word:
"Put your heart, hustle, and toughness on the line and lead your program to the BCS National Championship Game in NCAA Football 08. With all-new Leadership Control, boost the motivation level of your teammates by taking control and making big plays. Featuring an all-new Campus Legend mode and an even deeper Dynasty Mode, put your coaching prowess and integrity to the ultimate test. With the all-new MYShrine, Home Field Advantage, and exciting new plays like the Statue of Liberty, NCAA Football 08 is everything that's great about college football. What kind of legacy will you leave?"

xbox and ps2 were the exact same this year I believe. I'm hoping and have heard 360 will be great.

for example, when i played with my cousin, the pitch button (for the option) is R2 on PS2. on xbox, it is the black button, which is in a funny position. im sure everyone that plays xbox says the same thing about PS2 though

Is this all on 360 though?

Supposedly 360 will have pretty much everything the older systems have. EA took a lot of heat from fans who strongly disliked the gameplay changes and lack of Campus Legend mode. But unfortunately, campus legend mode is supposed to be a mirror image of Superstar Mode from Madden 07. I personally thought superstar mode sucked. It seemed cool and innovative at first, but after a couple of games, I totally lost interest. I found it incredibly difficult to dominate, and depending on your position, the game can get really boring if you aren't involved in the plays. EA deserves credit for listening to fans wanting change, but then they fall flat on their face by copying a poor idea.

A good thing about the game is that recruiting will be much more detailed. Now, if you recruit a guy by offering early playing time, and you don't play him, he will transfer. You can also sort prospects to fit your needs/wants. You can search through different types of players, like a scrambling QB versus a pocket passer, or a sure handed receiver or a speedy deep threat. That all sounds intriguing to me. There is a good article on IGN about it all.

I'm waiting to see what else can be expected of the game. I'm curious to see if they change last year's sloppy and all around god-awful play calling menu. This is the first year I have really had to debate on whether or not I even want to buy the game...

Cool feature I found that is gonna be on the new 08 game.

Another thing that's changed is how your player will make the transition into the collegiate game. With NCAA 08's Campus Legend mode, you'll start out by playing in a high school football tournament. Your first few games as a player will be played in small high school stadiums. Once your team makes it to the championship, with you leading the way, naturally, you'll get your first taste of college atmosphere when you play in a college stadium for the first time. Play your high school tournament in Tennessee, for example, and your championship game will take place at Neyland Stadium (home of the Volunteers). After each game in the tournament, you'll get a feel for your performance, as well as an idea of the various scouts that were in attendance to check you out. The higher you're rated as a performer, the more options you'll have once it comes time to commit to a Division 1-A team.

That is gonna be sweet, and also I thought that was cool that they picked Tennessee as an example.

Also I have heard that unlike past games where you could only replay the last play on the replay system.

You can now go back & look at any play during the game.

Supposedly 360 will have pretty much everything the older systems have.

This should be true especially since they have the PS3 out now. This is probably the last year for the old ones (if an XBOX1 version even comes out), so I would expect their new engine to be up and running at full speed.

I believe the last 2 years have just been balancing R&D costs with potential user base. When the PS3 dropped, they were nearly there. Their model probably had this year as the final transition to the new machines. Spend 3 years getting it up to speed, minimal improvements there on out. After a year or two, start to develop the next engine over a 3 year cycle again.

Good. The 360 version was a tremendous dissapointment last year. Good to see a full version on a next-gen.

This maybe be old news but in '08 you will be able to upload replays to a website show them off, and then save them to your pc.
