'26 NC WR Tyran Evans (Miami commit)

Realistically, most of the fan base thought this may be the year we start coming back to relevance after CJH took over and had to rebuild an absolute dumpster fire that was TN football. He's getting punished for his own early success.
I personally thought it might take a full recruiting class before we could be competitive, get close to Bama,Fla,UGA,etc.
The fact that we are a couple of years ahead of schedule and are continuing to recruit at a higher blue chip rate is a testament to what Coach is doing and tells me that we can continue to be a playoff contender as long as he's here

I think fans are seeing us recruit at a middle of the SEC level and the talent gap is growing. And let's be honest, Heupel's offense isn't fooling anyone anymore. Remains to be seen if and how he adapts to what the defenses are doing. I'll also be interested to see how his staff develops players in light of our perceived lackluster evaluations/recruiting these past few seasons at some positions.
Well Debbie downer, Heupels offense doesn't work when the Qb misses the target or the wr doesn't catch the ball. We should have beat Bama by 3 scores.

I think we can only do what payroll allows. Miami wanted to overpay for a guy. We feel better about the Legend.
Wouldn't think Tyran and Bey are necessarily connected. Two very different players. Evans is a solid X receiver, but they just got RJ so they already have a more talented guy for the long term so there's no reason to try to outbid Miami for him. Tennessee needs a physical presence at the X but they need one in the immediate and Evans just wasn't going to be that guy right away. That would be Keys or portal unless Travis just takes over the position this year imo

Miami has one of the best recruiters in the entire game. Funny though that he sucks as a head coach so they still aren’t ever going to be national championship contenders. Now maybe they will make the playoffs since the ACC sucks but besides that they just don’t have good coaching. So even if they buy classes I don’t think they have a head coach or coaches good enough to win one like OSU just did, he’s a recruiter and nothing more. So yeah we will get beat out for recruits by Miami and outbid by TAMU, but in the end I don’t think their coaches are good enough to win it all. So no glory days of Miami football and TAMU is a never has been that hired a national championship coach, bought a recruiting class and still sucked, it’s the TAMU way.

JMO but in 4 years Evans won’t the caliber WR that Travis Smith is currently.

A (RSJR) Evans at Miami won’t be EE Freshman Travis Smith. Not as strong or fast.

Never like that we took his commitment to begin with.

I had real questions about his speed. He looked slow on film. That’s why I mentioned Tillman after he committed…Tillman looked really slow, but eventually added just enough speed.

I’m guessing we backed off some.
Sorry I don’t check my notifications at all.

Yeah you’re right.

Tillman got faster because his father is a track coach irrc.
