'26 NC WR Tyran Evans (Miami commit)

With the current uncertainty in NIL with the clearinghouse, i would love to know what schools are telling players.

Yet, the 3 stars we have committed don't move the needle.
I think fans are seeing us recruit at a middle of the SEC level and the talent gap is growing. And let's be honest, Heupel's offense isn't fooling anyone anymore. Remains to be seen if and how he adapts to what the defenses are doing. I'll also be interested to see how his staff develops players in light of our perceived lackluster evaluations/recruiting these past few seasons at some positions.

The talent gap is growing? Based on what?

I don't know that agree with the sentiment that Heupel's offense isn't fooling anyone anymore. The last two years, we have had plenty of wide open receivers down the field. We just haven't executed nearly as many as when HH was here, whether it was an overthrown pass, a receiver dropping a ball that hit them in the hands or a holding penalty that negated a completion.

The thing about the majority of fans is they’re stupid

I don’t get this. As I have posted before, people get caught up in the actual rankings. When you actually analyze the classes (imagine that), the difference between Auburn at 8 and us at 11 is negligible. Auburn had a five star, 15 four stars, and 10 three stars. We had 2 five stars, 14 four stars, and 9 three stars. Their one five star is a QB that most likely won’t start this year, and he was 25th. Our top player is an OT that is 9th. The talent is very comparable.

Now let’s go to Michigan ranked 6th. They have 2 five stars, 14 four stars, and 8 three stars (we actually have more). They have the top player in the class, a QB. However, they have 6 players in the top 250. We have 11!

We are really not behind in talent unless you want to compare Ohio State and Georgia and Texas. Ohio State only had 12 in top 250 compared to our 11. We are not losing ground in talent to most of our peers.

Most simply look at number without digging into information. I have always said in recruiting there are 25-35 elite players you see from film another 60 slightly behind this group. Then this is were the real recruiting starts the next 300kids evaluation really no difference in Athletic abilities just different sizes height arm length ect. We're to place them? Coaches job is to evaluate kid playing down the road in few years and hopefully knowing the inner mental strength it takes to play this sport at highest level. So I like to look at Top 15 players and see were we stack up . In CHRIST Alone

I'm not "freaking out" but our recruiting is spiraling. What the hell is going on over there?
SPIRALING

We really have some stupid fans in this fanbase. Before Heupel we were in football purgatory for 15 years. How soon the stupid forget. Now, the same stupid think they know more than the coaches.
8 out of the 13 previous seasons before Heupel was hired were losing seasons. 2 of the 5 winning seasons were 7-6. Vols were 3-5 in the last 8 vs Vandy. Some of our fan base just can’t grasp the program was closer to the bottom of the SEC that it was the top.

The 2021 recruiting class (last years senior class) was ranked 31st I believe. Maryland, North Carolina, etc had higher rated classes. Sadly, that class was overrated at 31 as only 1 HS signee that year made a significant contribution to the program, Jaylen Wright, and he was already in the NFL. In comparison, OHio St had 7 5 star guys & most played vs Tennessee last year.

Sensible people realize Vol fans have avoided a 3-4 year rebuilding process & Heupel has done an amazing job.
