NC State silence is scaring me

They'll sign him to a fully executed contract overnight and UT will be stuck with him. NC State was ready to fire the guy. They are elated that they might not have to pay his buyout. Even better, we pay THEM money to take the loser.

If the fans continue to show up to games and the other boosters continue to contribute money, the HOH will continue to ruin the program.

Yep. They wont screw up this time. Papers will actually be signed at Tennessee will be obligated to stick with him. And there will be nothing that we can do about it.

Yep. I believe this is going to happen as well. I also think there will be literally no press conference. We will just hear about it.

Welcome to UT... your office is over there, and the field is just around the corner over there. See ya.

They can't be that stupid, they just can't, can they? :dunno:

Yall have to remember that this forum is a tiny minority of the fanbase. You average, casual fan is not going to stop going to games regardless of who the hire is. The money will keep rolling in and the status quo will remain.

Im afraid they would......and by the time he's introduced tomorrow he's already in contract......then what? Cant afford to pay another buyout........just blows my mind.

If so, then I'm done. I'm a UT fan because I love the game. It's fun sitting with my son and seeing him get excited. I tell him we win every game because he's only four and loves Tennessee.

I watched this season in hopes of getting an upgrade at coach. To my dismay we've went after a smart a$$ Yankee with baggage, a 40 year old man with a mullet, dropped the ball with Jeff Brohm (the best of this group), and now this tittyhead from NC State who was gonna get fired after this season for not meeting expectations at NC State!!

If they bring in Doeren, I'm done. We'll find something else to do on Saturdays. No longer will we plan things around Saturdays in the fall. I'm not gonna spend one red cent on any Vols hats, shirts, tickets, parking, mugs, kids clothes, or anything UT related. I'm gonna let my wallet do the talking and encourage others to do the same. If they don't care anymore about this program then neither do I.

Doeren is just trying to use this as leverage too in negotiating a new contract with NC ST.

I think he is smart enough to know he wants no part of the SEC.

I really feel bad for Coach Doeran.. he's willingly walking into the lions den because form his perspective, he's moving up in the world.

EDIT:

Just read they offered him a good deal to stay.. so I retract myself.

We'll see

You see that’s just it. If he has seen the backlash and still wants any part of this he’s an idiot. He’s set up for failure.

When it was Brohm he was going to be welcomed on a red carpet.

For Doeren they are gonna have to sneak up to the back door in a 1985 Yugo and hope nobody notices. Why even want a part of that. Renegotiate what you’ve got dear Lord.

I agree with you and unfortunately I'm afraid its going to come to the boycotting. As for you and your son, I can say that I'm 36 years old and I grew up going with my dad to all the games from about 89' to 2004 when I moved to Florida. I can tell you that that was the best times of my life growing up and we always looked forward to Saturday's together. To this day its my top memories of my childhood. Keep going with your son and just pray Currie is gone soon and we fet orange blood back in the administration where it belongs.

Kiffins multiple radio interviews are a HEAVY hint that he wants to talk. Warts and all Dave isn't in Kiffin's league as a coach. This is like watching all the candidates you voted for lose, and realizing you've got 4 years of the other guys running your life, and there is nothing you can do about it.

Says a lot. If your top in state recruit blocks a coach, why even consider hiring him? Cade is a fan, but he is no dummy. He knows his future is more important than his fandom to this train wreck. And he is right.

If we hire Doeren, I seriously hope Cade goes to Clemson. Going to TN under this administration with a lousy coach would be throwing his future away.

Ive heard on a couple radio shows that Jimmy Sexton told admin that Kiffin wanted the job and would bring Tee in as OC and Steele as DC. Supposedly admin said no.

Nothing from the media is scaring me. Basillo, Lowe, Matthews, Ainge, no one is saying anything.

They are probably keeping a tight lid on it, and quietly do it overnight while we sleep.

Yeah, Dave Doeren just started following Vol recruits on Twitter tonight.
You can send the fruit basket when hired to Peyton, Currie, and the Haslams.

They will send him out to give us a "pep talk" after the hire. He will come on strong just like Butch did. I bought it them, ain't buying it this time.

The deal will be finalized tonight in the cover of darkness. He will tell the officials at NC State in the morning and then tell the student athletes about his decision. He will fly in tomorrow to Knoxville and they will anounce him tomorrow afternoon. He will meet with our student athletes after that. That's how this going to go down.
