I know its a bit early but where the heck are we tailgating? Any idea on parking?

I'll look at the lots sometime later (on my phone atm) and let you know where we parked/tailgated for the Va Tech game a couple years ago. It was a good spot and was easy to guide people to to meet up.

Just purchased my tickets today as well. Luckily I was able to book a hotel. Most of them were full around the city.

Oddly enough, my seats are right next to gordonr24...

Let's have a beer after the game. On me.

Anyone know of a good place to stay that's fairly close to the Dome or the marta system? Didn't want to pay more than 200-250 a night. But I don't know the area at all.

Check out the buckhead area or the perimeter area. Close to Marta and its an easy ride in. Hotels should be cheaper out there

Marriott Perimeter Center, Fairfield Inn at the Perimeter or Crowne Plaza Ravinia are all nice. If you search on hotels near Dunwoody Marta, you'll be able to find them and others.

Anything within walking distance of Lenox Mall. There's a Marta station there.

The other train stations on the north lines are Lindberg, Brookhaven, Chamblee, Doraville, Dunwoody and North Springs. If you do a search on any of those and nearby hotels, you should be able to find something to your liking and in your price range.

And these are all fairly safe areas?

Yes, they are fine.

My recommendation would be these two:

Courtyard Atlanta Decatur Downtown/Emory
130 Clairemont Avenue, Decatur, GA

or

Holiday Inn Hotel Decatur
130 Clairemont Avenue, Decatur, GA

Both located 5 minute walk to Decatur marta. Downtown Decatur has a pretty chill nightlife with a great beer bar (Brick Store Pub). Somewhat like the Old City in Knoxville. Lots of great restaurants, etc.

If you are still in college, I would recommend somewhere in Buckhead (bar district off Roswell Rd) or Midtown (Crescent Avenue area) as the night life in these areas is pretty amped up and rowdy. You can probably find a room close to Marta in both those areas. Virginia Highlands area is great for night life but doesn't have many hotels and no access to Marta trains.

Solid recommendations. I always suggest people to Perimeter Center (Sandy Springs/Dunwoody Marta stop) just because of convenience and area. But if you are looking for night life, the better areas are probably Midtown/Buckhead/Decatur. Although I prefer Midtown and Decatur much more than Buckhead.

edit: And I've booked hotels for people in Perimeter Center for less than $100.
