nc st and uf games:

It's worth mentioning that we have to play @ A&M the week before the Tennessee game.
Y'all should easily beat NC St.

Which I like. This is just about the first time that y'all have really had to play anyone of any difficulty the week before us.

Put JH in the UGA game. Put JH and bray in the USCjr game. Im not one for what if's but those game's were close.Uga and UT didnt really lose anyone while USCjr lost jeffery and ingram, My point being these games will be closer then last year. GBO.!

On paper UT should beat UF next year. That doesn't count for anything.

Unfortunately we've seen mediocre Florida teams routinely play their best game of the year against UT.

Both the NCSU and UF games are must wins.

If we lose, the clock immediately starts on Muschamp.

Fair or unfair, that's the way it is.........he still has time to recover over the course of the season, but he can't afford to lose games to Tennessee.

The clock won't necessarily start with me, but in the bigger picture I think it would hurt him with boosters.

I've seen you argue time and again how Tennessee beating a not very good fl team wouldnt be a big deal. Here you seem to be saying that losing to TN would be a very big deal for fl.

So winning isnt a big deal but losing is?

I said it shouldn't be a big deal for Tennessee beating a mediocre Florida team. All I hear is Dooley needs a "signature win" by beating Florida, when in reality Florida is 15-11 the last 2 years, and won't be much better this year. beating Florida means nothing as far as a program-builder or signature win, etc. This isn't the mid 90's or mid 2000's Gator program.

So in some ways, you are correct. It's a game Florida coaches are expected to win.

Ask Zook how is record against UT turned out in his tenure as the Florida head coach. It's a game that is unacceptable to lose on a consistent basis.

We have the same feeling toward fl. Coach Fulmer was able to endure it because of his back to back sec's and a nc....but dont ever get the idea that Tennessee fans find it acceptable to loose to fl.

Oh and coach Fulmer owning bamer for 7 straight helped too.

UT should finally beat uf---they will be way down with a mediocre offense again--unproven QB, no good RBs, WRs and a terrible Oline.

Next year may be your best shot for a while. We are certainly going into the season with an unproven offense.

But you did notice that we finished with a top ten defense, played and won a bowl game, and didn't lose to Kentucky.

Have to agree with this post. If all UT fans were this reasonable, the program could build.

Funny that a UGA fan talks about building a program.... If you were to look up "underachieve" in the dictionary it would have a picture of a Georgia Bulldog. Just sayin.

I think must wins are GA, FL, and UA. I can see maybe one loss but the patience level for the fan base and donors is on a tight leash. As for me, Id give him 2 more years because I really believe in what he is doing at TN. It takes a lot to bring in a "good harvest."

If by UA you mean Alabama, it would take a monumental effort ..the other 2 are Georgia...40 percent chance of winning..Florida..60/40 to win...

I'm just not sold on CP coming in a setting the SEC on fire. Hope I am wrong.

We will never know for sure... but Bray put 288 on UF without Hunter. As I said, he was doubled on what amounted to an 8 yard hitch and had a 3 yard cushion. I feel VERY comfortable saying those numbers would have been MUCH better with Hunter.

How do you figure? Over 1400 of their 1800 rushing yards are gone. Brantley was the only QB they had that showed any consistency... and that was not "great" consistent play. They have young talent and iirc their 4th OC in 5 years. Vol fans know all too well how much fun that combination can be.

My main concern as we sit here today is the psychological aspect. UT does not know if they can beat UF. UF doesn't really believe they can lose to UT. Even if UT is the better team, the mental state of the two teams could shift the game to UF... as an UGA fan you should completely relate to that problem.

I saw the potential script for this game WAY too many times in the 90's. A team with a solid run game, balanced O, and great D comes into a game with what sounds like a reasonable gameplan. Run the ball, control the clock, keep the other O off the field... keep the game close then win it. The other team comes in, slings the ball all over the field matching their elite WR's against S's and LB's. They quickly get ahead and force the first team into abandoning its gameplan in favor of "catch up".

If everything "clicks" UT's passing O will be second to none in the country. That would have been true with just Hunter and Rogers. It is even more true with Patterson on board. Obviously there are all sorts of things that could go wrong. Maybe CP doesn't come in as strong as expected... Maybe JH isn't healed up physically/mentally. There are a million things that could go wrong and spoil the situation. But as we now sit and if everything goes as it should... Bray with Hunter, DR, CP, and those behind them are going to be tough to stop. You certainly cannot even sleep on M Lane as a receiver.
