'26 NC QB Faizon Brandon (Tennessee commit)

There must be something special about this kid. He has been committed to the Vols no matter who has tried or that the media has said something different.
Others have tried to lure him away and he flat said "no" . He must have a skill set the CJH knows is in line with that of Hooker? Processing speed on the field is a God given talent, but CJH and others know this and it will always remain a hidden gem in recruiting. I think he knows that this staff can exploit it to the teams advantage. Will be a wait and see.

Grew up a Vol fan.

We HAVE TO hang on to this kid! I truly believe we will be back to 2022 numbers with him at the helm!
Are we changing offensive coordinators?

I’ll be curious to see what Joey Aguilar feels about how our system executes. Because he’s had to learn 3 different offenses in college already.

With an accurate QB and good receiving core we would always have a top 5 offense. We have had neither the last two years.

Yet one QB is in the NFL while UCLA traded their probable starter for Nico.

The offense looked like butt in the spring as it has the past 2 years. Let me guess - that’s because Merk and GMAC are young?

Or maybe fans are dumb enough to just keep watching our offense get flanked when every defensive coordinator with P5 talent give us fits, and ultimately blame it on the QB?

I mean, how many wide open deep balls did Nico miss against Alabama? How many against Florida (plus drops)? He had wide open WRs against Arkansas that he didn’t miss because he never saw them (including a wide open WR in the end zone on the final play).

We can’t put that on Halzle’s ability as an OC. They were schemed open. Furthermore, I don’t think Halzle is really in charge of the offense. That’s Heupel.

Truth is, it’s been a combination of inaccurate QBs (and with sometimes poor field vision) and SEC defenses that have adjusted to Heupel’s offense. We need to see a counter-punch. I think they were working on that in the spring with pistol elements and tighter formations at times. My guess is that bringing Littrell in was a move towards helping to refine (not change) the offense.

It’ll be interesting to see how they look with Aguilar this year. He reputedly hits the deep ball. Hitting our share of those opens up everything else.

Pleasure to watch this young man, watching him lead recievers perfectly and drop the ball in the hands is going to change the "sec defense has figured out our offense) talk. Faizon should be a deciding factor in some WRs recruitment.

I guess I’m just dumb enough to see wide open WR’s against Arkansas, UF, and Bama last year that were missed.

The offense isn’t perfect, but there were certainly plays to be made to win or make those games more convincing. It’s all on film.

Edit: Nighthawk beat me to it.

"[Faizon] Brandon is more advanced than Hendon Hooker at the same stage and the pair share several traits." Wrote ESPN's Tom Luginbill. "He is also much more accurate than Joe Milton. While he lacks Iamaleava's polish at this stage, Brandon throws an exceptional deep ball, which is a requirement in this scheme that loves to attack vertically."

lacks polish?

Yeah he's definitely more polished than Nico was at this stage imo. Nico was super talented but not as polished.

Idk tho, Nico was really crisp with his throwing motion and had an insane release speed. All the issues with nico was mental stuff
