'26 NC QB Faizon Brandon (Tennessee commit)

It’s almost like recruiting rankings aren’t the infallible scientific institutions that many think they are.

Faizon is the same player now that he was a few months ago. Changing his ranking doesn’t make that untrue.
That’s not correct.

HES BETTER now because of all the summer training and competition.

I think rankings are adjusted for more than just pure talent. It’s a hype thing as well to get more clicks. Keep people engaged through the cycle more.

Let’s pump the breaks there lol, he hasn’t even taken a snap yet and we said the same thing about Nico, but if he does end up a top 2 qb, then here’s to that 🍻
This kid is a much better fit than Nico. He’s a threat to run the ball effectively, with much more muscle in his frame already. He’s an accurate passer, he’s from the south which means he won’t get home sick. He’s not entitled, he’s a humble and by all accounts a great kid. He’s a sure fire bet, and much more likely to follow the QB recipe established in Knoxville that Dobbs showed to Hendo. Nico didn’t embrace it, this kid will and has. The only thing IMO that could possibly slow him down is GMac being a good QB here and keeping him on the bench for two seasons(I would welcome this). But if he takes over during his freshman season he very well will leave as a top 2 QB here.

Nico could have been a top QB here with his talent. He and his family care too much about money and other activities than focusing on football. If he had been solely focused on football and put in the work, he could have been great here.

Nah.

Dobbs and Manning are my top 2.

Then Hooker.

Hell he might not beat out GMAC. He was on fire in the spring game
If I remember correctly Brandon is really young for his class, right? I think George or Merk start next year and the other one likely transfers. I think Brandon sits year one then is the starter until he goes pro but who knows expectations and reality sometimes don’t meet.

Yup, his arm talent was elite, he just couldn’t process anything worth a darn

Processing the information is the single most important trait for a great QB. Many of the greatest QBs having been the most talented( see Brady and Brees and Peyton after his injury. Even before the injury he wasn’t all that athletic

Edit: can’t forget about Joe Montana

Yeah being cerebral is probably the single most important skill as a QB other than leadership.

Hooker>Dobbs. One elevated his team to achieve greater than their collective the other did not.

Hard to say how much of that was coaching, but those Dobbs teams were loaded
