'27 NC EDGE Andrew Rogers (Virginia Tech commit)

So let me get this straight. Nico is proof that that the star system is flawed and you're content with the guys the staff recruits because they proved their ability to evaluate recruits when they recruited .... the can't miss QB Nico?

Unfortunately, Nico's dad is the main reason we will never know what he could of been.

So you cherry pick a single point from the entire discussion?

I didn't say anything about the star system. I was responding to the statement that anyone who says they don't care about stars are in denial. Stars are fine. It is one solid data point. Another data point is the opinion of the guys who are paid to win games. I value that too. Not sure how any of this is controversial.

You should be able to count on a higher floor with mega stars, maybe more years of production, but the draft proves they do not guarantee ceilings. Services have to rank what they HAVE seen and can’t be in the Kreskin development potential business. Probabilities take over from there.

David Sanders hasn't played a down. And then there is Nico.

Stars are nice. They are a solid data point. But it's silly to constantly second guess a staff that has proven themselves.
So David Sanders injury means the people ranking him missed the mark? Not sure your point accomplishes what you’re wanting it to.

I didn't say they missed the mark. I said he hasn't proven anything, meaning, he can't really be used as an example of a 5* success. Not sure why everyone insists on putting words in my mouth, but since they do, I'm done here.

I can't figure out why everyone seems so insistent with the recruiting sites being the end all. Makes me laugh when people actually talk about them like they are actual NFL scouts. I've learned to try to ignore it, I'll throw out my opinion but have learned over the years you can't change peoples minds, if they want to believe something it doesn't matter what I say they are going to believe. There are many beliefs here that I have that most others disagree with, at the end of the day I'll make my points as to why I disagree and carry on, still makes no sense to talk bad about a player that commits to us, the coaches wanted them, they wanted to come to UT but people are going to do their thing. Probably all ties into the rankings and they just can't make sense of a coach taking a 3 star over a 4 star to them. Nothing I say will affect that mind set even though I believe it isn't the best look to see the fans bashing a commit on his big day, yes it probably won't affect other commits but what's the good of it? I know I'm not a scout but several here believe themselves to be so I'll leave it at that. As I get older and supposedly wiser there seems to be more things I just don't understand the logic of, used to bother me but have made my peace with it, don't let them get you down.
