'21 NC DT Payton Page (Clemson commit)

Good post. I’ve always kinda liked the hire right off the bat. My dad is a coach, pruitts way of going about his business reminds me of my pops in some ways. What really drove home that feeling was the bowl game. Team didn’t give up, staff coached with some balls and prevailed. It’s the right mix of cerebral strategy and grit. When we win games like the bowl game it feels less like luck (like the UGA Hail Mary) and more a product of a plan being executed. Mix in some pretty stout recruiting and I’m extremely optimistic about the trajectory of this program.
agreed. i don't get the feeling there's any schtick involved. no "opportunity is now here" or "63 effort" bs.

man up. do your job. and knock the hell out of hte guy in front of ya.

and i think the even more than all that (that's just good old fashioned warm and fuzzy football stuff imo, but still important from a mentality/attitude/culture standpoint) i think the thing i've been impressed wtih the most is his ability/willingness to recogize his own flaw(s)/mistakes, and adjust. and that has carried over to how he's gone about adjusting the staff in 2+ seasons as well. which i think everyone should agree has been really good.....(Weinke not withstanding @Bassmaster_Vol lol)

i mean for a guy that hasn't gotten the "big result" yet, and considering where this program was when he got it....i don't really see how you can't say that it's not "so far so good".....and feel like the future looks pretty bright.

right mix of modern football dynamics and old school attitude/work ethic....

so far, so good.

Beating Auburn on the road was pretty damn good

One of my dads phrases is “luck is real, but it’s up to you to make your own”.

It was. But that Auburn team wasn't what we were less to believe it was.

Still... It was a very good win on the road when everyone thought it would be a 'get right' game for them... The UK game that year was big too...

But we all know UGA bama and Florida move the needle the most... That's what I was getting at...

It's actually pretty simple. Ingram Dawkins commitment to Tennessee leaked so he pushed it back. Then Page was going to commit, but things are more quiet about it because he didn't want to risk his decision to be leaked either.
