NBA Playoffs

Good to see sound fundamental basketball(the Spurs) still beats gimmick laden garbage(the Suns).

The NBA should be happy.
Yes, they should. I'm sure David Stern wouldn't want his product cheapened by having a team that plays Rec League style basketball reaching the game's grandest stage. Basketball purists everywhere owe a debt of gratitude to the Spurs for eliminating the pox that is the Phoenix Suns.

Yeah, San Antonio looked real fundamentally sound when Robert and Bruce laid cheapshot after cheapshot. Nothing would please me more than to see Sloan's squad knock off the Spurs and advance to the Finals.

And I would love to see world peace and all races come together as one. Here's hoping the NBA west solves all of our problems with an equitable outcome..

Get over the cheap shot garbage. That was media fodder tossed out to impact the officiating. Bowen is a fouling POS, but none of what he does merits the cheap shot label and the officials let him get away with it.

As to Horry's hip check, Nash made it appear he'd been hit by a train. It was clearly a foul and unwarranted, but not intended to injure.

The Suns still play pathetic D and live by the jumper, which is not the way to win drawn out series against quality defensive teams.

I guees kneeing someone in the crotch and continuous tripping doesn't merit the cheapshot label in Buce's case. I'd also add that Robert threw his elbow out first, which clearly showed an intent to harm.

You're never going to turn guys that like watching the physical brand of the game. So don't try. Yes, the Spurs do employ goons, but that's how the game works. There are the players, and then there are guys who go in there to take those players out of the game. The NBA has been this way for years.

The whole incident was worth it just to hear Horry's "Oooh I'm dyyyying!" impression of Nash afterwards.

Those "goons", Horry and Bowen, have almost two handfuls of rings. Exactly how many has St. Steve Nash won?

Wouldn't you say Bruce Pearl's offensive style is much like the NBA version: Suns?

Is it not garbage in college?

Just curious.
Somewhat similar. I don't think anyone on here can find a post where I've said I'm fond of Pearl's style of play.

That style of play can win in college basketball. Actually, I'd say any style of basketball can win a national title in MCBB as long as it's well-executed by a talented roster.

In the NBA playoffs, over multiple 7 game series, physical, defensive teams are going to move on while flashy jump-shooting teams will not.

That's sound analysis. However, it doesn't take long to call roll of teams that depended on the press and the three that have won National Championships.

Absolutely, because it's never going to succeed in the NBA. If it were going to, the Run TMC Warriors would have won in the early '90s.

I'll put down a grand that the Suns will win a title within three years. D'Antoni's squad showed it could play the Spurs style in game 4. Without Boris and Amare for game 5, it then changed the entire complexion of the series. Game 6 showed just how much energy was expended playing a 7 man rotation on Wednesday night.

You're on. Nash is getting nothing but older, they're going to trade Marion, and they won't be able to pay Diaw and Barbosa both. Their window slammed shut last night.

How bout a grand that the Bulls take it within three years?
