NBA Combine

not necessarily.......most of the roster doesnt deserve to be in the nba

True, I'm just guessing that they have a good amount of cap space. They have a lot of options. I think mcrae will definitely make a team, but spend most of his rookie year in the D-league.

Stokes has the desire to succeed, and I hope he does it. But, I still believe that his height could give him some issues at the 4. If you look up the top 4's in the NBA, you find Kevin Love, Anthony Davis, Griffin, Nowitzki, Aldridge, Duncan, etc. The only two in the top ten of efficiency that are under 6'10" are Kenneth Faried and Paul Millsaps. So, it can be done, but he has to work hard.

Also, glad to see Jordan showing out. I think his handle is a problem. Not as bad as Hopson, but he has to get stronger with the ball. There is no doubt that he could light it up if he got the number of shots that pros can get. JMO.

AdamZagoria: Former Tennessee big man Jarnell Stokes works out for Miami tomorrow, his agent tells @SNYtv

Wouldn't you guys say theres a point when you optimize a certain skill in basketball? Like how much can Jordan McRae really improve his handles? I'm sure he's been working on it since he got here.

players today work on their dunks and 3 pointers 5x the amount they put into ballhandling.
You aren't putting in the work, if you aren't improving. UT guards haven't handled the ball well in years.

Think I've still got a pair of middle school glasses that were designed to prevent you from looking down while holding a dribble. Think they'd help?

The thing that helped me the most with my dribbling was moving to a new house before my FR year that had a solid gravel driveway. If you could control a ball on that gravel, you'd have no problems on a real court.

I used to love when friends would come over and play; I had home-court advantage :).

Good call. Probably felt like you had it on a string once you got back on hardwood.

btw: if I'm one of your buddies back then I am pushing a rule that only shooting games are played at your crib! Absolutely no games with dribbling required. :)

I loved Jumpsoles for about a day and then I couldn't walk for about a week...

Same thing happened to me, my vertical went backwards. We were poor too so I couldn't get the actual shoe, I had to get the velcro strap on pair. Took 10 minutes to put the damn things on. I remember getting them, and going to the court that night and doing the exercises and waking up barely able to walk. "I'm 5'9 and doing 360s, thanks jumpsoles" my a$$. Lol

I had a pair of Jumpsoles when I was a kid, those things were the devil.

I had a neighborhood friend named Orien. When we were in 8th grade, we would go run Balmoral School court in SE Memphis, which was full court 9 foot goals. Usually 20-30 deep and from kids to men. At any rate, O could dunk on anyone at @ 5'8. I came out in those flipper looking shoes one day and he fell on the ground laughing. Those things were a joke.
I found out quickly you jump higher by jumping everyday and trying to jump higher.
O went on to play pg at Ms st and never grew taller than 5'8

A buddy, Troy was his name, got me squatting in 4 ft of water and then exploding up out of it. By far the thing that helped me the most.
