This list proves a couple things:

1. The NBA all-star game is easily the worst among major sports. Not only does it have the same meaninglessness as the NFL's, but their selections are ridiculous. The fact that there is even a way for Yao Ming, who will have played a total of five games this season, to be named a starter is beyond me.

2. The NBA needs to work on its marketing. The snubs in the west are all more deserving of at least a couple of the players who did make it in, likely off name recognition.

3. Everybody thought the East got better, it's still a handful of really good teams and then a bunch of junk.

Agreed, but it's still my favorite of the all-star games to watch. I know the west has a ton of forwards, but Duncan getting in is nothing more than a career achievement. If the west were to change out Yao and Duncan for Love and Aldridge then it would be fine.

My thoughts exactly. The fan vote is a crock. It needs to be left to media and coaches only.

Love strikes me as the type of guy who would be average on a winning team, but he's averaging 21 and 16... Gimme a break.

I've already vented on Aldridge. He's in the middle of single-handedly carrying an Oden-less, Roy-less, Camby-less Blazers to the playoffs. Not to mention punking Duncan and co. the other night.

it is insane that kevin love didn't make it. the west is loaded at forward.

love is maybe the most underrated player in the league right now.

This is exactly why it needs to be done away with. Years wasted away with Yao and TMac taking spots that they in no way deserved.

The only time tmac was wrongfully voted for was last year when he was almost a starter. All the other times were legit.

Lamar Odom.

He's not deserving because he has enough around him. On most other teams he would be puttng up numbers better than Zach Randolph.

Westbrook made it. That's all I cared about. Wish Kevin Love had too. Stern better name him the starter. His combination of rebounding and outside shooting as -never- been seen in the league before.

He's cut out of his own mold for sure, but everybody's still waiting to see how he does on a team that doesn't totally suck.

Move Duncan into Yao's place in the starting lineup... since he is officially listed as a Center... at least in ESPN's stats.

Kevin Love or Zach Randolph HAVE to be selected as a reserve by the commish. Aldridge is playing great but how does he get in over two guys averaging double double's? 21/15 and 20/13 respectively.

The NBA all-star game is by far the best.

Aldridge single handedly decimated San Antonio the other night, and Portland is still a playoff team.
