I'm with the mavs year 3 shooting guard. Yi Jianlian and Brandon Wright are starting. The CPU GM's are so dumb.

Dude, Yi just torched Lebron when we played them.

BTW, Lebron and Wade are the worst teammates from a PG perspective. It's ridiculous. I can't get any assists because they won't shoot when they are open. I'll pass it to Lebron with position under the hoop against a smaller guy. He'll sit on it. Back it out. Then pass it to Haslem at the 3 pt line with :02 left on shot clock.

It's so retarded.

I'm a free agent next season, and I want Kevin Love. A PF that can shoot will result in a lot of assists, I believe.

I got drafted by the Knicks and was traded for Bosh 17 games into my first season. In year three now. I'm also a PG and get tons if assists playing with James/Wade.

Here is how you do it.

After you bring the ball across half court, call an isolation play for yourself. Once your teammates are into position, call Wade or James ( whoever is slotted for a cut to basket ) to cut to the rim. Once they start going to the rim, simply follow them and then throw them the ball, they will be in position for a layup or dunk every time.

I routinely get anywhere from 12-16 assists a game and have gotten over 30 assists on three occasions and topped out at a record 35.

My guy is averaging 32 ppg, 6 rpg, 11 apg and 4 spg

I only play the key games and my guy is a 95 overall.

I plan on testing FA but playing with those two make it so easy for me.

James is out with a broken back and the game has gotten considerably harder with just myself and Wade being the only players on the team who have a rating over 70.

Good to know, GahLee. I'll try that. I don't use any set plays....ever. I tried to, but didn't have the patience for it when pick n' roll didn't work immediately to my satisfaction.

That's a hell of a stat line, especially on the rebounds. I only play key games, but I get just 1 or 2 boards, and that brings my average down. 13 assists is the most I've ever had, and I average only 8. We'll see how that isolation play goes.

I must note I play 12 minute quarters. A great play to get assists off of two is to do isolation and while holding speed burst do a hop step just before the free throw line, depending on which side of the rim you are favoring the CPU defense will collapse on you and leave either your PF or C open. Just pass it to him when he does. Haslem hits the 15 foot shot 7/10 times. It's money IF you can get by your defender.

I'll also note running this offense will net a ton of assists but a ton of turnovers too, well at first anyway.

Man, I've had this ga,e since it came out, but I've never tried this mode. Is it difficult to set up?

It's easy to set up but frustrating at first. Your guy sucks, he'll be around a 61 overall at first but if you perform well in the key games you will advance quickly.

Wow, 12 minutequarters. I wouldn't have the patience for that. This season I am playing 5 minute quarters, and simming 10 minute quarters. 24, 4, and 5 are my averages, and I'm leading the league in scoring by like 4 points.

What is your turnover average? I get 2.1 per game, and I like it that way. If I went to 12 minute quarters, I'd probably have 6 topg. I'd be pulling my hair out, I'm so OCD about that stat.

Here is how to get an A plus teammate grade in every game you play.

When your man has the ball, call for a double team, be smart in who you call and when cause it will obviously leave someone open and you don't wanna lose the game in spite of a good personal performance.

If you do this and just play average as far as shooting, assisting, rebounding, exct, you should have an A+ rating by halftime.

This will help dramatically in your player improving, I didn't figure this out until mid way through my second season.

Oh, also, do they ever put your PG in at Power Forward? Just about every other game they'll put me in at PF late in the 4th quarter. It'll be a close game, and they'll want me to guard Elton Brand, and at 6' 3" 195 lbs, that's a ridiculous matchup. It always hurts my chances of winning, and my teammate rating.

3.5 per game.

I've had games with double digit turnovers. I wanted to kill someone. I've also had games where I got 20 assists and no turnovers.

You will learn when to pass the ball in that iso/cut play, most of the turnovers come from trying to beat my man off if iso and him just stealing it.

Like I said, high turnovers, very high assists.

As far as the game length goes, I want the score/stats to be realistic, wining a game 55-48 seems dumb to me.

Personal preference though.

It's happened once or twice. Every game for about a 5 minute period I play the 2 and Chalmers runs the point. Other than that I stay at PG.

Try that iso/cut play and the double team and you'll like the result.

When they sub you out of position like that, just call for the ball in offense and play point anyway ( you can't call plays ) and in defense just call for a double team as soon as your man gets the ball. If you contest his shot and double team your teammate grade will go up every time, even if he scores.

What do you guys spend your money on to get your player better?

You talking skill points or actual contract money?

I'm still in my rookie contract which is measly at best so all the money I make I do charities and what not with.

Skill points depends on position and what you value, obviously.

Yeah I meant contract money. I'm a shooting guard, and I'm a pretty good shooter now, so I'm trying to get more athletic.

My rookie contract was for 2 years, and in my 3rd year they picked up an option on me or something. I didn't agree to it. They just automatically had me locked in at an extremely low price.

I'm a top 10 player in the league (in terms of overall rating), but I am paid just over $1M in salary.

Tried to do a scoring SF. Was picked in the first round by the Knicks. Mostly terrible season.

Now I'm trying an athletic shooting guard (going for Scotty Hopson-esque). It's working a little better now.

I'm only 72 overall, I average 24 ppg. I dont know how you guys get so many skill points?

Read back a little in this thread, I posted how to get an A+ teammate grade every time, the skill points shall follow.

I'm now a 97 halfway through my third year.

Finally was drafted as a lottery pick. Made 6'7 205lb athletic PG JP Prince, lol. Went to the Suns. Second NBA and dominated Kobe somehow. Blocked him 3 times. But that's been my only highlight so far.

Setting picks on offense is also a great way to quickly get to A+.

So I won my first title and MVP with the Heat in my 3rd season. Even though they signed Melo (who the game pretends is an amazing player) in the offseason, I chose to sign with the Jazz. Honestly, they are my team, but it was the best situation with all the bigs they have. I'm now easily leading the league in assists, and we are first in the west. My guy has a 99 player rating.
