I always get the games every year but I just have no desire to play it with an NBA lockout and it looks a lot similar to 2k11.

Jumped into an online association.....pretty cool that it has users and CPU on your schedule and you play all the games for that week (4 or 5 games) before it gets advanced. There is also a timer on the main page that tells you when the next advance will be

The NBA's greatest challenge is more difficult than I anticipated. I've played the Dr. J game close to 10 times and still haven't won.

If you are looking for great rosters with rookies and HEX edited rosters, go to 2Kshare and search for GT: Thelorn. It is for 360 and here is a breakdown of what the roster offers:

Rookie Cyberface Mega Pack Details.
FYI before someone asks, cyberface is the real faces of the rookies on disc.


-All 30 NBA team color schemes for current, special, and retros
-All 34 classic team color ways
-All uniforms have been unlocked (ORL and MIN black alternates)
Some extra notes:
-'93 and '96 Bulls are wearing white shoes to match the correct colorway for MJ's kicks
-MIA home jersey can be worn with black shoes (retro 2)
-LAL 1970's can be worn with white or black shoes (retro 1)
-LAL 1980's purple retro is now "retro 4"
-DEN sky blue uniforms can be worn with black (current away) or white (retro 3) shoes
-I gave Wade the "Jordan 2011 ID" shoe because it matches all of the uniforms better

-Every rookie on every team, around 30 good looking cyberface rookies, another 17 rookies cyberfaces in the free agent pool rated 25 for those that requested the lighter players.

-Every rookie cyberface has a CAP in the free agent pool rated 25 with the same last name/position/tendencies/hotspots as the cyberface incase you don't like the skin tone of the cyberface. Can also change the cyberface's skin another shade if you don't like the default one.

-Correct free agent pool with retired players also rated 25. Metta World Peace is also in pool rated 25 with the same tendencies/hotspots as the current Artest you only need to change his ratings if you want to switch. Wilson Chandler was left on nuggets easier to drop his ratings then re-rate him for the few that don't want to use him.

-Over 50 signature shots done to players, up to date to 1rose's shots(10/14)keep checking his BLOG to keep your signature shots up to date.

-Tried to make the accessories as accurate as possible for all rookies and over 100 veterans. Even added pressure shorts to all players unless they couldn't be seen from leg/knee accessories. Shoe's are to set to match uniforms no matter home or away.

-Proper rotations, minutes, and numbers for teams.

-Key players on teams have a no trade clause on as do the lottery picks to prevent AI trading in my player mode and association mode.

-Center's isolation on the three line and three point tendencies have been completely lowered to the lowest possible unless they are a center who can actually shoot threes.

-None of the pro's ratings or potential have been lowered. I am not a rating's guru and don't care to have one side happy with the changes or another side mad at them. If you want to lower or higher them, go for it.

-Since it was considered a weaker draft talent wise, there's only 4 rookies with potential over 80 and no higher then 85. Kyrie, Enes, Derrick, and Jonas. Don't agree with it? Change it.

Patch release for the PS3 and PC, Xbox coming soon
NBA 2K12 Patch 1.03 has been released for the PS3. (The XBOX360 patch is coming soon).

Here are the official patch notes:

GAMEPLAY

  • On-dribbler steal success rates have been tuned down.
  • Tuned accuracy of directional passing in order to more reliably pass to the intended target.
  • Improved help defense, specifically for rotations on pick-and-roll situations.
  • Defensive tuning on 3PT shots to reduce the success of contested threes.
  • Addressed an issue on drives to the basket where the help defender wouldn’t fully engage in the double team
ONLINE

  • Several matchmaking optimizations have been made in order to help users get into games quicker. This will reduce the amount of time the “Searching For Opponent…” screen is displayed for.
  • Addressed a number of network errors that would cause games to end prematurely.
  • Addressed an issue in Team-Up where certain conditions would lead to a player standing idle for prolonged periods of time.
  • Corrected a Win/Loss streak tracking issue such that the “Back to Back to Back” achievement/trophy will now unlock at the proper time.

With a few slider adjustments, especially with the CPU 3 point shooting efficiency, this is a great game. It is still plagued with online issues and connectivity

Anyone still playing this? I have recently gotten back to playing it and the online has been greatly improved imo. They are coming out with a patch before Christmas and they will be doing roster updates often as players sign their contracts. Still one of the best basketball games ever made imo, just wish they had it for NCAA

Im in year 2 of my association, with the Sacramento Kings. My starting 5 is.....

John Wall- acquired via trade involving Tyreke Evans

Jimmer Ferdette- really need to trade this guy, he has absolutely no defense and was destroyed in my last game by Kobe.

Harrison Barnes- was my first round pick, picked #4 in the draft....the guy is a monster

Chris Bosh- acquired via trade involving JJ Hickson and others

Greg Oden- acquired via free agency.

BC, do you know of any good rosters for 360 that has added all of the rookies? This is supposed to be delivered tomorrow and I'd like to get my Association going.

Ok 0247, when you get the game, you will have to go to 2K Share and look under the rosters tab. You can search by gamertag or just look at the one that has been downloaded the most. The gamertag is extreme3600. The roster includes the rookies and also hex edits. If you are wanting the draft classes, go to the draft class tab in 2K Share and find the one that has in the title "Real's". He has three different draft classes on their, one for 2012,2013,2014. Hope this helps, if you are having trouble finding the files or getting on 2K share via the console when you get the game, just let me know. I normally stalk the gaming forum, so I will see it and give any help that I can.

I will get this once I have a ps3, or at least rent it. I have been historically awful at NBA games, though. Never got the hang of last year's.

So I get to the NBA finals my first year in my player mode, win game 4 in a sweep and now my game freezes every single time I win game 4 and try to get back to the home screen. MFer.
