first of all - rivals had us listed as number 11 and 4th in sec - why would you pick the 247 to talk about - as opposed to rivals ? Just wanted to be the debby downer or what?

second - omg - what in the world were you drinking to remotely think any first year coach (saban included) with sanctions at his heels would be able to recruit classes above ala, am, and georgia cause that is what u are looking at. You are not helping tennessee with that negatively. You are not helping tennessee better their recruiting. Why don't you try to say something good about tennessee

The recruiting game has changed. After spring practice, sadly the herd is thinned.

Then, aka the LA Rams, we pick up ALL the remaining portal all-stars. They will be ready to contribute by fall.

All the other programs are not still pending an investigation from the NCAA. It’s also rumored that UT has self imposed scholarship penalties for this year and last for the reason not signing a full class. Hueple took over a program that was decimated by transfers and cheating scandals. No other coach wanted due to the uphill climb it was and the potential of the hammer being dropped on them from the actions of prior staff. Once this investigation is over with Hueple will have an easier time recruiting. So far Hueple has overachieved to most reasonable people. No one thought before the season that the offense would have done what it done and competed with every team on our schedule for most of the game till depth become an issue late in games. Heuple will do great things here, just everyone needs to give him time ONCE the investigation is over with and we are our from the NCAA.

247 composite has always been the most used on every forum I've been on. Sounds like you used rivals to be a pumper. See how that works? I didn't compare us to Bama or ga. They're so far ahead of us that would be ludicrous. To catch up and start competing with those teams is obviously what I was referring to. I like how sanctions is everyone's excuse. Ain't nothing more than a slap on the wrist going to happen if that. NIL is moving up the ladder tho.

Kentucky, Missouri? In what world should those schools EVER be above us in recruiting? We even beat them so can't use not winning as an excuse. Drink has done nothing and is a big dork yet pulled an excellent class by their standards. Stoops is a little more understandable. He's at least had longevity, 10 win seasons and is putting guys in the NFL.

Recruiting has been the been the big question mark for CJH and it's a fair question cause he's never done it at a high level. It was a big reason ucf fans were starting to get disgruntled. Losing more each season didn't help. To CJHs credit, UCFs fans are pretty delusional.

Close the gap, close the gap! That's been the talk on here for years. Well that gap just got wider. "But the portal will save us!" Florida and Ole miss just robbed the portal while Bama cherry picked their normal 4 and 5 stars. Speaking of Florida, everybody was making fun of them a month ago. Fired their coach and was recruiting like 50th. In a freaking month he moved them ahead of us when figuring in transfers. A Month! I don't know the answer but recruiting is the single biggest point when it comes to winning. It's why butch Jones, who was a good recruiter but terrible coach, has our 2 best seasons the last 15 years.

247 has us 13th. 16th is conposite, (including ESPN...).

Not a soul thought we should be top 15.

Yes we're in the 20s overall, NOW reember we'll take a handful more transfers post-Spring.

Correct on the composite. 15th is roughly where we've been for years. Butch had some higher ranked but that's cause he signed a bunch. To me the bigger difference now is you can be 15th or 30th and there's really not much difference. Whereas in the past top 10 were on pretty equal footing. It is so top heavy now that you have 1-3, a gap, 4-7, a bigger gap, 8-10 a even bigger gap and then anything after 10 is a ginormous crater. Alabama, Georgia and Texas A&M got 43 of the top 100. Tennessee got Zero. That's just nuts

There is reason he got a 6 yr contract. It's not gonna happen overnight.

Fisher came out and denounced the rumors. Like anyone really gives a $hit about what he says. It’s pretty obvious something down there is racking up the recruits; and it’s not their on field success.

Only one question matters, is this roster better today than it was in August 2021? If yes, we can move forward. If not, we're screwed. No coach can recover from two blown classes in a row no matter whose at fault.

You can keep repeating this message over and over every day and still, there are those who will never get it. They would rather complain over and over every day that their team Is not Alabama. I believe they like to wallow in their own misery.
