National/local media reactions for Pruitt hire

You can say that again. Whoever follows Saban, even if it is a coach as accomplished, successful, and capable as Dabo, will feel immense pressure to replicate Saban's success. It's one thing to arrive at a school and build the school's expectation level that high. It's quite another to arrive at a school and already have the expectation level that high.

Their fans will give Saban's successor two years to either win the SEC and/or make the playoff. If he isn't able to do so, he will be fired even with regular season records like 10-2 or 11-1.

The last season Alabama did not have a chance to win the national title at the end of the year was 2013. 2013! Their fans are so incredibly spoiled and don't even realize it.

Wouldn't it be hilarious if it were Gruden, talking about pissing some fans off.

And your fan base is so incredibly frustrated and miserable you think spoiled is bad.

This won't be the first time Alabama fans have had to live through a dynasty.

It's tough work, but history is forever.

Yes, history is forever.

I remember the 10 WINS out of 12 years that Tennessee enjoyed.

Good times back then but being honest, both Teams have had good times and bad.

Bama finally set a record by paying nick saTan more $$$ than any coach in FBS history and it's paid off really well for the crimson tUrd.

Tennessee will build back up, saTan will leave alaBubba and the WIN cycle will swing back to our Vols for many years as you guys search for the next coming of Bear or saTan.

VFL...GBO!!!

Actually you are right. Spoiled is not a bad thing unless it leads to arrogance, which your fan base is full of. When you fall, and you will, it will be hard. And fun for everybody to watch. Can't wait to see hundreds of Bama coeds crying their little eyes out. Hopefully at the hands of Clemson.... again.

They also are coming off a season when the two other powerhouse teams in the East, UT and Florida, had their worst seasons in years... ever for UT. They better hope OU doesn't smack them down in front of a national audience.

Sorry, but this is why our fan base is referred to as “delusional.” “Two other powerhouse teams in the East, UT and Florida....”? Seriously?

We have a losing record over the last TEN years, 62-63.

Going back to 2000, 18 years, we’ve won 58.6% (133-94) of our games. Powerhouse?

We (myself included) chanted “2016, 2016, 2016” for 3 years, only to finish the regular season 8-4, and that was our best finish over the last 10 years.

The 1990s was LONG ago, this is not only a different team, it’s a different program.

Living in yester-year, trashing other schools success, accomplishes nothing. I hate Alabama and Georgia because they are doing what we’ve failed to do, that’s all. Period.

It works both ways. When friends from other schools bring up problems like, “Jones had 4 players arrested for sexual assault or rape in 18 months, 2 still awaiting trial....” I have the same answer, Butch is gone, that’s history. We’re 100% behind CJP and excited about our future.

Sports pundits may or may not believe every word they say or write. At the end of the day it’s about exploiting a situation to gain attention.

Nice answer to Finebam from Chris Lowe!

Look, after the coaching search fiasco we just had, we are lucky we even pulled a top coordinator. Pruitt may never turn out to be a good HC but out of all coordinators available, he has the resume and the pedigree. He's what we need and want but only short side is that he has no HC experience. I think it was best move with the hand we are dealt.

I think Pruitt's gonna do great!Great recruiter (gonna see him pull in a lot better than expected class),and great X&O's Coach(best since Kiffin). Tyson Helton hopefully will be a good/great OC.Because our Defense is gonna be a lot better than we've seen in awhile!

I wanted to spend the BIG $$$ and go after a proven HC that gave us a serious opportunity to get back to the SEC Championship game and beyond.

Pedersen or Patterson were my top 2 hopes at the time.

Venables was my top Coordinator hope.

Now that I've done more serious research, learned much more about Pruitt and see the type of Coaches he's already gotten for his staff I have to believe that Fulmer did a great job in a short period of time as our new AD.

The coaching staff that CJP hired so fast really impresses me for several reasons...

1...These Coaches know CJP much better than any of us do and they were quickly ready to jump right into our dumpster fire and risk their names and reputations and get to K town ASAP to get right to work helping to learn about our player roster and get busy helping to recruit.

2...They also left their families and friends right before Christmas to get to the hill knowing that all of them also have to get moved to K town and find new homes annd get that big move made.

3...That proved to me that all those coaches really believe and Trust in CJP and what they all can accomplish here at Tennessee.

4...We seem to now have good Teaching coaches that put a top priority on discipline and making out kids as good as they can become as fast as possible.

5...Lots of good knowledge and experience playing for, working with and learning from some really good HC's in good programs around the country but mostly in the always brutal SEC and yet none of them seem to fear a total rebuilding task in the EC, I have to love that.

6...Recruiting, and top recruiting, also seems to be a major priority with CJP and our new staff and we all know that if you can't fight and compete for top recruits that it's doubtful that we'll ever compete and WIN on the field either.

2 more huge WINS I see that came from all of this...

1...Our Loyal Volunteer fans came together, united and took over social media, sent thousands of emails and even marched together on the Hill to demand that some serious changes be made and to make them NOW because we'd had enough and that forced the powers that be to finally sit up and take notice that we weren't going to pay for a crap sandwich anymore and sit by and smile about it.

2...1 of the most important WINS that I see is that we forced Fulmer and his group of BIG $$$$$ boosters to finally take on the Haslems and break that Losing stranglehold away from our footVol program.

Getting rid of the power hungry Haslam group and keep them at bay forever could be the biggest WIN of this entire process.

This took longer than any of us wanted, some people reached their breaking point to where they just wanted anyone hired as our next HC just to get it all over with but now I hope we can all see that we got several WINS for OUR footVol program and, so far, it seems like we've done pretty well in these very early stages of rebuilding our beloved footVol program.

It's still going to take a few more years to see the proof of everything on the field but I finally have several solid reasons to have high hopes again.

Now we need to start seeing some good recruits flipping to the good guys.

VFL...GBO!!!
