We win it all in the next 3 years. Heup has shown he's willing to make the right choices to put us on top. Trading Banks for Knowles is like signing 10 5-stars on D. He's gonna pull Hiter after the problems at Michigan. That RB with our O is gonna be unstoppable and now Knowles will have that D rolling as well.

This year's recruiting class will leave Knox with one, maybe two, rings.

Winning 3-4 playoff games is too much of a crapshoot to speak in absolutes, but I agree with the basic principle. If we aren't one of the top contenders next year, we will be in the very near future.

I think 2026 season is going to be another 8-4 type season. We have lots of coaching changes, New D scheme to learn and we have not seen the effects of the transfer portal yet. We will probably be breaking in a new QB and all of that takes time. We have a brutal schedule next year and it all points at around 9-3 to (yikes) 7-5 for a record.

2027 however will be a different season, Most likely have a QB in his second year, the defense will have learned Knowles scheme, Knowles will have more of "his" players in the defense and I just think 2027 is the year to be a contender for the SEC championship and the playoffs.

I'm an optimist. We gonna go 12-0 for the next 150 years at least. Take that Bammers.

GO VOLS!!!

DGG is the RB of the future my good man- and with Faizon and these WRs we just signed…. Looking like the 1990s around here

We have been fine on the offensive side of the ball (mostly) for a few years. Last year with Nico was kinda shaky though .

The thing that has been holding us back is our defense. Sure we were decent last year but we got put in our place really quick in Columbus

All of our big signees have been on the offensive side of the ball. Until we start signing top notch talent on both sides we are kinda gonna be stuck where we are

Face it-we have had a few great players on D in the last ten years or so. Barnette, Pierce, Alontae Taylor was the closest thing we had to a lockdown corner for years. Other than that though, our defenses were just a bunch of nice pieces

We need 4-5 of those dogs on defense on the field at all times man. Then 6-7 "nice pieces" to go around them and fill up the field .

Until we get that, we are just gonna be in a purgatory of maybe occasionally making the playoffs. To make a serious run, Heupel is gonna have to devote more resources to D while maintaining the offensive output. Simple as that.

Kamal Hadden was arguably on par with Alontae toward the end of his career here, and McCoy was even better last year than Alontae was in 2021.

definitely a positive trend but you might want to ease up a bit. you never know season to season which players will come and go. feels like the offseason is off to a really good start after a terrible ending to the regular season. hope you are right! gbo

That would be great! But are you going to remember saying this in 3 years or are you going to repeat this every year???

Yeah, there are a lot of moving parts in this staff and roster right now, and some of them will move on. Let's see what the roster looks like entering spring practice; how the staff firms up (still waiting on a move at S&C); portal losses and gains; etc.

Circle Sunday, October 4th. If we wake up with UT at 4-1 (or better), we're back. 3-2 (or worse), and it's going to be a tough year.

Go Vols.

I'll repeat it every year until we fire Help and get a new coach. Then I'll say we never had a chance with Heup and just wait til the new coach gets his guys! 😂

I won’t go as far as to say I think TN will win 1or 2 natties in the next 4 or 5 years, just because it’s freaking tough, and playing in the SEC is tough. Heck, by the time the Playoff comes around we are all beat up pretty good!

However, I do think it’s highly likely that TN gets back to being a major competitor for the National Championship. Knowles should straighten out those defensive struggles and that will be huge! With a bit of luck, there might be one waiting for you guys in the near future.

I don’t mean to say that it will be luck if TN wins a championship. I just think every National Championship team has benefited from a bit of luck during their run. Goodness knows my Dawgs enjoyed some luck in 21 and 22! Probably wouldn’t have won either without it.

If we had a natty for every incoming natty we were going to have over the last 20 years... 😂 I dont think 2026 is going to be the bad year I've seen some on here predict, but there's zero reason 2027 shouldnt be a serious title run. Zero excuses. That will definitely define Heupels tenue in my mind, unless next year happens to be extremely awful or title run itself.

There is no "3 Year Window" in college sports anymore. No school can afford to keep an athlete more than 2 years, as they will leave for more NIL money or because his daddy told him to do so. Shame.
