Nate Evans changes Committment from Vols To NC State

A couple of weeks ago, when the new 4- and 5-star commitments were coming fast and furious, a few insightful posters* noted that the wave of success would probably be followed by a culling of some of the existing commitments to make room for more talented alternatives.

It made sense, given how much time still remains to recruit more.

And here we see what may be the first step in that realignment of the class.

Wish this young man the very best with the Wolfpack. Always liked that school.

Go Vols!

* not me, oh heck no. I'm no recruiting guru, not even a recruiting forum neophyte. I usually don't pay much attention to high school kids until they show up on campus wearing orange. No, this was folks much smarter than me on the recruiting scene.

It's crazy, someone commits that's a 3 star and one of the first comments will be, we dont need another 3 star. A 3 star leaves, what the heck, what's going on? We dont want them but dont want to see them leave. Good luck young man, may you be a 5 star at NC St.

I think everyone knew some of this was coming. These want to go somewhere they can play. I believe he saw the writing on the wall and knew he would be better suited somewhere else. I personally, wish him nothing but the best. I hope he finds what he is looking for.

3 stars are about as close to 5 stars as they get at NCSU;)

Recruiting is a tough business.

Best of luck to him. Go forth and beat Dook 4 times, young man!

Pruitt might have tentatively accepted his commitment at camp. But CJP has to have been slick about. The kid is from Hampton roads so I'm sure the relationships are important to maintain for the coaching staff.

However, it's not that we didn't want him. I just think we have someone better at his position.

It's not that we didnt want him, and it different circumstances I'm sure we would have kept him. I'm sure no one expected to have the class size and talent committed at this point. I hope he balls out at NCstate, it's just an good situation for us to be in however.
