Nashville Radio Ripping Vols/Dooley

I ALWAYS expect UT to beat Vandy. Even when I'm nervous going into last weeks game I expected to win. I refuse to lower my expectations of UT for this coach like many have.

I'll say this, going in, I was still saying that Vandy has still found a way to play like Vandy this season, no matter how close they've gotten to beating ____.

The only thing that really gave me any comfort was that I knew Bray was going to play...aside from that, I did not "expect" a win. At best, I said it was probable.

And just let it go about Dooley...holy crap.

I've been saying I believe this story is the biggest non-issue I've ever seen.

Another Bush League moment for Franklin by the way. When he was asked about it should of said things are said in all victorious locker rooms...move on. Kind of a fraternal thing, IMO, he should have stuck up for, because who knows, someday if they win a game the show may be on the other foot. But instead he plays the "We'll be talking this up next year" card. Really? Not that you wouldn't IN THE LOCKER ROOM, but to the media....Bush League. I have no respect for him.

Also, I have a lot of respect for Bobby Johnson. Easily the most successful Vandy coach in my lifetime, had a respectful nature and expected the same of his players, had more winning seasons than I've ever seen at Vandy, went to bowl games and won. For Franklin to talk of changing the culture...well that chop block from behind is the result of that talk!

Bush League!

Its not all of Nashville, its that dick head Clay Travis. He constantly belittles anyone who has an opinion opposite of his. No matter how valid the callers point is. And the minute someone starts to show him up, he starts to ramble on and talk over then so they cant get a word in sideways. Nashville is 90% Vols fans, 5% "you aint had lovin till you fu**ed your cousins" bandwagon jumping bama fans, 3% everyone else fans, and maybe 2% Vandy fans. GBO

Clay just has some kind of personal vendetta against Dooley. Maybe they'll tell him to tone it down. The man hasn't had a fair shake yet and to be ripping him this early won't do him any favors. Clay is also not the most knowledgable person when it comes to football, so he's pretty much just a ignorant assclown.

I wonder if Clay burned a bridge with Dooley at some point during the season and now he's on the outside looking in? I don't mind admitting that I expected to Vandy to do what they were predicted to do and win a close one in Knoxville. As a Vol fan, I was happy to be wrong. It seems like Clay is pissed that the Vols won, which is difficult to square with his repeated statements about being a lifeling Vols fan.

Maybe the "marbles in his mouth" comment at media days didn't sit well with him. Don't know.... It's pretty obvious now that he just doesn't like him for whatever reason. He's not a "name" coach and ignorant people think that's all that's wrong. Wasn't going to matter who was the coach this year. Next year is a different story. We'll all know a lot more about what we got in Dooley next year.

That "name" coach really worked well for Ole Miss...

I understand what Clay's getting at here, but even a "name" coach would have struggled here this year, period.

People who think otherwise have seriously lost touch with reality; loosing two of your best D starters before the season starts, a make-shift secondary, freshman and sophomores all over the place in the starting lineup--compounded with injuries to significant contributors and possibly our two most talented starters....

Yeah, that "name" coach could have competed for the East with that talent-laden roster.

Yeah, that's exactly what I said.

Supposedly we're UT with all this tradition and history, etc. and we act like we just won the Super Bowl after beating Vandy.
How many of this year's starters are freshmen? This was their first ever SEC win. They haven't been there before.

Now if they are still this excited about beating Vandy in their senior season, we have a problem.

I think it is something similar. Dooley made fun of Travis's media questions on multiple occasions, and CT took it as insult. He's had a grudge against Dooley ever since it started and it only grows every time Dooley makes Travis look like an idiot. (This happen most every time they interact.)

Hahahahahaha (takes breath) hahahaha

BEEF is a CDD fan!

I'm a Tennessee Vols fan. I expect the head coach to do a good job regardless. I don't want to hear excuses for poor play.
A very good example is our new basketball coach. He makes no excuses and the team is VERY well coached even in losses. He actually gets MORE out of his players. That's what I expect.

News Flash: Basketball is a far different sport than football. Because of it's physical nature and dependency on weights and offseason training, it is very difficult for young players to have their way with seasoned vets! thanks!

Celebrating and singing after beating Vandy is Pathetic. Doing so after a home, over time victory is beyond pathetic.
My friends in other states have teased me about our celebration of the great OT victory.

I expected that win and so should everyone else. The team and coaches as well.

You can read what my expectations for coaches at UT are. Thus far your cult leader has not gotten close to meeting htem.

Cult leader? That's nice. All this from the guru that assured us that he only dealt in facts and not emotion.

Neophyte much? :lolabove:

Your so smart, comparing basketball to football, especially when freshmen can easily contribute right away in basketball which is not the case at all in football
