Why not?

I know in the last one I bought (05) some drivers, Mayfield for example, weren't in the game.

Yeah Sept. 6th is the release date. From what I gathered so far Bowyer,Tony Raines, Dave Blaney and Sterling Marlin won't be in the game. Is it to much to ask for them to put all the guys in it and have 43 cars on the track in two player mode????

Not sure why? I mod on Clint's official board and his girlfriend Athena told me he wasn't goiing to be included on the game.

I didn't play last years version, but did it have Nashville Superspeedway and Kentuckty Speedway? I know the version 2 years ago didn't. I would like to race at those tracks rather than some of the fake tracks they put in there.

That was a downer, aksn907. Pocono wasn't even on the '05 game.

I did like the fantasy tracks though, something different.

Kentucky & Nashville wasn't in last years game either. I agree it would be cool if they added them but I also like some of the fantasy tracks.

Yes, it is too much to ask of EA to do that for you. The most notoriously cheap of all video game production studios. If they're too lazy to release a good version of Madden, NCAA Football or anything else for your XBox 360, I doubt they would do anything special for NASCAR.

A buddy of mine just bought it so I went over there to check it out. It's amazing! Just went you thought EA couldn't screw the game up any worse than the past they have managed to do it! The gameplay is the exact same it has been for the last 3 years. Graphics are the same or maybe even worse. Several drivers are NOT in the game including; Carl Edwards, Clint Bowyer and Ken Schrader. As far as the Busch Series drivers go, about 97% of them are the Cup guys and there is only like 5 real Truck Series drivers. Only a few drivers have more than one paint scheme this year. This is by far the worst Nascar game yet by EA Sports!

I was thinking about buying this game, but I believe after hearing all this that I'm going to borrow it from a friend

Gee, sounds exactly like the 05 version.

I've been playing racers since Pole Position on the Atari 2600. Been playing PC racers since Indy 500 - the original in 1989. I've attempted to play as many racing games as I can in every discipline.

EA, without a doubt, makes the sorriest Nascar games, well racing games for that matter, that I've ever seen. Let's examine Nascar 07 - which I bought like an idiot.

The modified series has no real drivers and only a few actual events the modifieds run at. That's fine - I'll give them that throw away.

The Craftsman Truck Series in the game is a JOKE. How can you only include less than 10 real drivers? That's absurd.

The Busch Series is a BIT better but still not where it needs to be and there is absolutely no excuse at all for the Nascar Cup series not to have every real driver so you can at least have a full 43 Cup car field with actual drivers.

Saying that I could overlook those glaring problems if not for the horrid gameplay. The racing still stinks and is as arcade like as it gets for something trying to promote itself as a real racing game. Put the difficulty on normal - the most hardcore it gets - and drive into a corner at Dover without slowing down - slam into the wall and ride around it picking up momentum and it makes a slight scratch on your right side door panel. Get a car sideways at Daytona and get crushed in the door and flip wildly - land on your wheels and keep right on trucking. The AI wreck but they do the same thing. Oh look, Brian Vickers is upside down on the backstretch. Next lap - oh look, Brian Vickers is PASSING me at full speed. But, hit a piece of debris the wrong way and shread a tire and have to pit. I can flip endlessly and be fine but that piece of sheet metal can sure wreak havoc! The cars are much to easy to drive without getting them into trouble as well. A good bang in the door going through the middle of turn one at Michigan should send both cars out of control and into the outside wall - not in Nascar 07.

Online mode for XBox. Full of kids that want to race Daytona and Talladega all day long on sprint races, rookie AI, assists on, and no damage. Yawn, oh and only 4 players online at one time - jeez EA. Nascar 2003 for the PC - with a bunch of people with 56k connections was able to race 43, yes, 43 cars online in a much more realistic version of stock car racing than Nascar 07 but yet we are limited to 4 cars online - pathetic.

EA Sports Nascar 07 - if it's in the game, it's NOT in the game.

When in God's name does this EA license expire? The Nascar Heat series of games put's any version of EA's Nascar games to shame on the consoles. Pop in Nascar Heat 2002 for XBox or Nascar Dirt to Daytona for PS2 and see the difference. Cars honestly handle 85% more realistic and the crashes are spot on. In those games when the "big one" happens at Daytona or Talladega - it's really like you would imagine.

Anyone that wants a realistic Nascar experience needs to stay as far away from this pile of crap as they can. Now, if you were a casual fan that wanted to have a little fun - I'm sure Nascar 07 can provide you with a bit of fun. But, if you want to see realism in this game - you aren't going to get it here. I have an idea for EA - and I really wish they'd take this to heart. Fuse Burnout and Nascar into a game - heck, get the rights to Talladega Nights and do it with that since it had a bunch of fake drivers. Instead of trying to put out a Nascar racer next year put out Talladega Nights or Days of Thunder. Create your own story and then up the arcade play and make the crashes just insane and the racing white knuckle. Incorporate better smoke effects and sparks and damage. Without Nascar you can make the cars come apart in wicked ways and have nasty nasty crashes that Nascar would never allow you to have anyway. A car gets airborne and takes out half of the fence and is laying in pieces on the track - ahhhhh, a good arcade experience. Fake tracks and fake drivers with the Nascar/Burnout mix and EA - then my friends you will have a winner. Quit trying to make a decent Nascar game - it's not going to happen. Instead focus on making a violent, over the top, Days of Thunder/Talladega Nights type of game with stock cars. Then you all won't have to worry about the backlash because your game isn't realistic - it will be made to be arcade like.

Any PC users that hasn't ever played Nascar 2003 - you are missing the best Nascar experience out there. Well, I will say that RFactor and some of it's mod's are getting close to the realism in Nascar 2003. Especially the new version of the Stock Car Evolution mod. Guys that are disgusted with EA and have the means to try out RFactor and it's incredible mods won't be disappointed because it at least tries to be realistic.

Oh, for the console bunch that wants the best stock car online experience out there right now pick up Toca Race Driver 3. It's not got real drivers but at least the game is 1000x more realistic than EA's Nascar games.
