Names on Jerseys

I don't care either way, but I believe that if you are a playmaker, people will know who you are. I mean, Eric Berry could be wearing a gorilla suit and people would still know it was him after they got hit.... or maybe a real 800lb pissed off gorilla.

I think it would be awesome to have the players earn the right to have there name on their jerseys. It would be another way to inspire competition. Maybe give it to players he make the all SEC team and the captains. It's just an idea, but respect is earned, not given.

If they take the names off I hope they don't allow multiple numbers like USC does. It will already be hard enough to figure out whos who without names. I guess I'll just have to watch with my Football Time in Tennessee magazine handy.

Anyone know if the jerseys other than the names are going to get altered any? I know the practice jerseys are a little bit different this year.

They would have to bring out the black jerseys as well.. Then it would be a done deal.

If removing the names will make us a better team, then by gawd get rid of um!

Names look good but, don't win you football games, but I it is fun to talk about just like if the practice jerseys are the Vols new jerseys for this year.

Lovin the Practice Jerseys. They are sweet!! I could dig those on game day. Most important to me is making sure the orange pants are part of the road uniforms.

I don't get into looks of the Uni's really, but I like to be able to see a player's name to know who it is! Do most of you memorize the roster every year?

i would rather have names but i guess no name is alright i dont really care but yes make the practice jerseys the real jerseys with black outline on the home jerseys numbers

we should be the first to remove numbers. They make it way too much about the individual player

I agree with volley I don't memorize the entire roster so it's nice to be able to easily recognize who is on the field at any given time. As for it taking away from the team aspect I'm not sure about that, but I think having the name may appeal to a recruit.

If taking the names off the jersey's makes them play better then i'm all for it. Otherwise i don't see the need in changing something thats been there for a long time. It would be weird to not see names on the jerseys.

i remember the last bowl loss to nebraska (we clearly had the better personnel) and fulmer's comment afterward that some of the vols seemed to be playing more for the name on the jersey than the team. the names should have come off then. i hope they stay off. if you have to wonder who 44 is, you need to start following a different sport or buy a program. by the way, it doesn't seem to hurt SC's play.

Fulmer didn't know what the hell he was talking about.

Hmmm....that's odd. I'd heard that, rather than "Richardson," the back of Nuke's jersey would read "See ya, b*tch"
