Someone earlier here mentioned Barwis who was just let go at Michigan. I think this is someone you guys would want. I have read a bunch of good things about this dude, and the players all love and RESPECT him.
Here is a story I had read when he came to Michigan:
My cousin who used to be a cheerleader for WVU said that this guy was respected more than RR there and a lot of them thought that he was the real reason they were prepared for their games.
I was actually hoping Hoke was going to keep him around....
It's taking entirely too long. It's vital that we have an expert in the weight room at all times to tell our fine young men how to do repetitious lifts of metal bars. We'll probably go 2-10 now, thanks Dooley!
Does anyone know the time frame on getting a S/C coach? I want us to get one ASAP but not just anyone. Would be good to get him in early so the players can become acclimated to how he trains.
Actually, I like your idea of looking beyond football trainers. Am Olympics strength trainer (wrestling, power lifting, or maybe even gymnastics) or extreme martial artist would probably be fine and cheaper as they could be hired for a lot less than your usual strength coach. Maybe even require players to spend one whole day a week on an Amish farm to work the fields and other stuff will do just as well.
My bad. I did a search for his name but couldn't find him mentioned in this thread. I just want to get a good one locked up so we can move forward before Spring gets here.
