Thanks for letting everyone know on the first page that you don't really understand how college football works. I played college ball, and having a top notch S&C coach is essential. He is more important to you than anyone except the head coach, your coordinator, and your position coach, except in the offseason, when he is more important than those guys too...
not so fast, my friend....Blah, blah, blah....we'll fawn over whoever the next hire is simply because he took the job. Due to the nature of the job even the most knowledgeable on the board have no idea how to evaluate a new hire in the SC department. It is much easier to critique/evaluate a position coach or a coordinator.
Vercy hit the nail on the head.
Hmmm - did you just say the S&C coach is the most important coach a player has, except for every other coach he has?
Just messing. Agree it's a crucial role, especially in off-season. I trust Dooley to find a good one, with appropriate emphasis on character as well as S&C.

Yep me too. So instead of going out there and recruiting I think a better plan of action is to argue on a Vols message board about a S&C coach. Don't choke on your whistle sir, those things can be deadly.
