Name this puppy

Honestly I think he will be the biggest golden I have seen. The pictures don't do it justice, his legs and feet really are huge. His head is enormous too. He's only 3 months old and he's almost as big as our 4 year old pointer mix.

A little bit different angle to give you an idea of what I mean.

He was a rescue. A breeder lost him and just kind of disregarded him. He was found by Knoxville Golden Rescue in a ditch with bite marks all over his head and his eye gashed (hence the blindness). They tried to find him a home but no one wanted him because of his pre-existing health issues (blindness, head trauma, seizures, etc). We wanted a golden and my wife has a sweet spot for special needs dogs. So we ended up with this little guy.

I had a dachshund that had seizures pretty often, we had to give him heart medicine twice a day. It was sad when he had them.

He simply died of being an old dog who was loved for 16+ years. His sight was almost gone, his hearing was shot, and he just lost the energy to do anything.

The most tragic part of it for me was that my family lives in Memphis and I was in Knoxville, so I found out by a phone call from my mom sobbing on the phone.

I am truly sorry to hear that. I'm sure it still weighs on you. I am one of those prideful men that refuses to cry, but I balled over the loss of our sweet golden Max a while back. He was everything to my wife and I. She raised him since she was 10. We lost him to lymphoma earlier this year.

I've never seen a boy who was just so happy to be alive. And he loved his mommy. He brought the rings down the aisle at our wedding and he was there with the ring tied around his neck when I surprised her and proposed to her.

This is a picture of my wife sleeping with him the night before we lost him. She never left his side. The next day he couldn't even stand. Now he gets to run in the fields and play in Heaven. I don't know if we'll ever fully recover from losing him. But getting a couple of new dogs has helped the healing process go into motion at least.

I feel that pain. Animals dying are the only thing that will bring a tear to my eye in movies. It's great to know that you had the opportunity to get a true golden, but one who needed love. It seems like some breeds fight for love, while others have people fight for their love. Getting a golden who might be overlooked is so lucky.

How about any of the retired numbers? Atkins, fusion, Reggie, nowling, klarer, or tucker? Get about 7 more puppies and you could have the whole gang

If I had it to do over again I would name my animals for things that I end up calling them so they learn easier. I am a loving pet owner, but I tend to call my dog dumb *** alot. She is not dumb at all, but it is a loving gesture that covers many areas and she won't find it offensive. Wish I had named her that so her feelings wouldn't get hurt if they actually are getting hurt by me calling her dumb ***. Love my doggie.

Great job with a rescue. My sister in law just went to a breeder for their puppy and I was not pleased to say the least.

If I had a one eye dog I'd have to go with Sammy or Cy (but I tend to make light of stuff like that).

Awesome looking dog. I love labs and retrievers. We got a black lab pup about 8 months ago and she's gone from 4lbs to about 75-80lbs. We named her Ellie Mae
