I played against big John Henderson multiple times... in pop warner football and then when he was at Pearl Cohn. I was considered a big guy and he was a good 5 inches taller than I was. Fastest guy of his size that Ive ever played against.

I drew the responsibility of blocking Eric Westmoreland in a game once. Wasn't a pretty day. Seems like he had 50 tackles that day.

Played some backyard games against JJ McCleskey growing up. I was a bit younger but he was a great guy.

Sat the bench while watching Helton play.

Does Travis Cozart count if he never made it into UT?

I also don't consider FG holder a position or else I'd mention the Farragut guys. :p

i am surprised that al ran track

Oh, yea. 100, 200 and shotput. I think he also threw the discus. He won most every event that he entered, and he was also the big man at the meets. It seemed like he was always surrounded by a ton of people...

Aubrayo Franklin (Science Hill) knocked the crap out of me, Teddy Gaines (Dobyns-Bennett) ran right by me on a punt return (incredible speed), Joey Matthews (Sevier County) threw for over 300 yards vs us, but had better luck against the overrated, cocky, and fat Brad Hilsher (Maryville).

Guys I played against in H.S. from the Memphis area:
Reggie Ingram-Hit like a truck.
Kendrick Jones-Could fly...scored 4 touchdowns in one quarter.
David Bennett-Toughest option quarterback I have ever seen.
Ronald Davis-Blazing speed. Only guy to run back a kickoff against us in 4 years.
Tom Hutton- Had a cannon.
Some of the best talent coming out of H.S. in the Memphis area during the late 80's to early 90's.

Well you should know my cousin " Corey Walker " one of the best runningbacks to come through Memphis.

I intercepted a Peyton Manning pass and returned it for a touchdown. I also pancaked Shaun Ellis on a halfback toss.

Just kidding :dance2:

All my stories involve FL kids so I can't relate.

I didn't get to play on the same team with any Vols in H.S.

But,
I sacked Corey Fleming (Stratford) in a scrimmage.
I got run over by Mose Phillips (Hillsboro) , even though he didn't even weigh 200 lbs. back then.
I ran away from Duane Dotson (Hendersonville) when I saw him coming towards me.

I have chased a few former Vols during and after their careers. I won't name them, but does that count?

I guess you knew the football team was going to be bad...if you were able to catch them.

I sacked Corey Fleming (Stratford) in a scrimmage.

My HS team played Stratford in basketball, although I think I was a middle schooler dressing with the JV. Fleming was possibly a better baller than a football player, and that is saying something. I also had a similar situation as a youthful pine-rider with Jay Price (Brainard) and Carlus Groves (East Robertson.)

I'm sure I was on the floor with several UT basketball players in highschool summer leagues, but my memory is failing in my old age. I can, however, tell you every player who signed with that dreaded school in Lexington that I lined up against.

Oh, and I used to dominate Isiah Victor. I think he was in the eight grade, but domination is domination:thumbsup:
