Name some Vols you played with or against in high school.

Played against Jason Swain. Also played against Leron McClain(Baltimore Ravens and Bama), Chad Jackson(Denver Broncos and Florida Gator), the Castille Brothers(Bama), and Demeco Ryans(Texans and Bama). Also know Karlos Dansby, Jerricho Cotchery, Kerry Rhodes, played with Brandon Johnson( LB for Cincinnati Bengals and Louisville Cardinals), Darius McClure( Florida St.), Kenneth Hollis(LSU).

I used to play backyard ball with Jason McAddley and Shawn Bohannon...both went to Alabama though. Ran track with with Jason in HS.

Gerald Riggs Jr when we played the interstate game against Red Bank

not a Vol, but played against thomas davis in the playoffs, and got the hell knocked out of me

I was 1-1 against Jermaine Copleand. Beat him in the regular season an where undefeated untill we met again in the final four of the state playoffs.

Not a Vol but I sacked Chad Penningtion at Knox Webb in the same season.

Got in a fist fight with Antron Peebles

Speaking of fights, I almost got into it with Von Reeves during an intramural basketball game while I was in school. We of differing opinions of it being OK for him to push me under the basket and my not being able to do the same to him on the other end of the court. Then another player on his team (some kind of cornerback or something like that) told me that I was going to eat my next shot.

I got the ball on the other end of the court and did a pump fake and as he flying by me I shouted out “Air Bourne” and then put it in the basket. I was promptly pulled from the game by the guy that was in charge of the team. He told me that I didn’t need to make them any angrier and get hurt.

Andy Kelly was on that team as well and I have to say that he was an extremely good sport. I just can’t say that about most of the rest of them.

Ryan Karl made me look stupid my freshman year on a blitz. Sophomore year, we played Oher, Hardy and Bram Cannon at Briarcrest, and were the only team to score points on them in the playoffs, and they stole most of our teams stuff. Junior year, I earholed Jacques McClendon, and we beat Baylor 4-1 in a scrimmage.

I think that's about it. I've played against more D1 guys, but yeah.

I stepped in front of my buddy when Reggie Cobb shoved the crap outta him in Ivy's. I told him to back the f off and he started yelling at me about trying to get through & my buddy being in the way. I told Reggie that he didn't have to shove him like that & he mumbled something and kept going. Knowing now that he may have been jacked up, I probably should have just pushed my friend for him, lol.

What High School did you go to?

i played with and am good friends with former saftey jarod parrish and i played against inky...he made our whole defense miss on one play, but we crushed his school. despite him being sick, crim was never really good. im also friends with deon grant, my hs coach/2nd father was his hs coach and mentor, he used to get us on the field and in the locker room for the games.

I played against big John Henderson multiple times... in pop warner football and then when he was at Pearl Cohn. I was considered a big guy and he was a good 5 inches taller than I was. Fastest guy of his size that Ive ever played against.

I played against Big John in the State Championship my Sophmore year. He was a monster! It's funny seeing half the team try to bring him down.

I played softball with Brian Spivey and against Duane Dobson.

They both stunk, but Dobson could still run.

I personally didn't play against any Vols in High School but a couple of buddies of mine did. One still has the scar on his chin from getting flat ran over by James " Little Man" Stewart in a freshman game and another flat ran over Teddy Gaines on an end around in DB vs. South game his senior year.

Played against:

Todd Helton - Knox Central
Will Newman, Spencer Riley, the D-end whos brother was all everything that signed with Georgia can't remember his name - Jeff County
Ralph Nelson - South
Shawn Summers, Richard Howard - Oak Ridge
Little Man - Morristown West (ran all over us in the first round. We were undefeated and #1 in the state and went home)
James Bates - Went to UF - Seiver County
Riverdale team - Fernado Byrant and a few others that went on to play D1

Played with:
Teddy Gaines was freshman @ DB when I was Senior
Aaron Fergason - all american Marshall
Shane Pierson - went to UNC

I am sure that there are alot more just can't think of.

when did u grad.did u play baseball i might have played against you.:good!:

I played against John Finlayson in highschool. He played for McNairy Central High School and I played for Chester County High School. It's funny because the hardest hit that I think I ever had was against him. The funny thing about the hit was that I think it hurt me worse than it did him. Another impressive thing on his side is that he was a freshman and I was a senior. He played tight end in highschool also and caught a pass about 15 yards down the field running vertically. I was the free safety and actually hit him head on before he completely got his head turned upfield or even saw me coming. I remember saying that I felt like I ran into a brick wall when I tackled him. Fortunately for me, he is one of my friends and I get to usually watch a couple of games or so a year with him and some other friends like 9296potsguy and I40VOL.

Another guy I competed against was Al Wilson. I didn't actually get to play in a game against him but I got to cover him on a few pass routes in our summer passing league in Jackson. I remember how freaking quick and fast he was and how he was a man among boys at wherever he lined up. I would say that he probably weighed about 215 lbs back then.

I did actually play basketball against him in highschool and will never forget watching him make a layup from the freethrow line. He got a defensive rebound and went coast to coast while leaving the floor at the freethrow line and not being too far from the rim with his hand when he layed the ball off the backboard. I was so impressed that a guy as bulky as him could be that agile and quick. He was an impressive specimen in his basketball uniform and kind of reminded me of the hulk.

I drew the responsibility of blocking Eric Westmoreland in a game once. Wasn't a pretty day. Seems like he had 50 tackles that day.

You were responsible for blocking a safety? Westmoreland was a safety at Marion County. I played against him. I also was a team mate of Eddie Moore from South Pittsburg.
