What I can't get over is on 3rd down, at least 5 times today, we completed passes well short of the 1st down marker.

We converted 3.....count them......3!!!!!!! 3rd downs today. 3 of 16 on 3rd down.

We gained 163 yards.....that's it.

Our offense is offensive when we play against real talent.



The coaches didn't put these young men in the position to be successful today and they will get a pass for it over injuries.

A lot of those short passes were on Dobbs making up his mind and not reading the play. He threw a swing pass to Hurd with 4 Alabama players there when if he looked across the middle he had Wolf wide open.

I understand it perfectly. And also understand he needs to hire a great offensive mind to come in and rewrite it. He needs an OC who will adjust to the talent we have and make adjustments to the game plan each week.
So far we have tried to fit the players to his stubborn system (round pegs in square holes) instead of taking advantage of their strengths (how much better would Hurd be in a pro set offense with lead blocker? For example)

With the offensive line play today, no offense would work. Injuries and playing a great front seven was the problem today. You can't run or throw if you can't block anyone.

He was very bad today. No rollouts or misdirection plays at all. Just sat Dobbs in the pocket and let them tee off on him all night. Damn that was stupid.
