So we lost again to the Gators...the fact that we were competitive with them in the past shows the strength of our program.

All you "Fire Dooley" douches need to go jump on the Tide bandwagon. Remember where they were between Stallings and Satan.

We are vastly improved over where we were when CPF Got canned.

It's not going to be a quick fix, but we are headed in the right direction!

37-20... at Neyland? Just stop... you're embarrassing the program. :shakehead:

Where do you think Bama would be if Mal Moore went for the argument that they just couldn't risk the instability that might come with firing Shula? Every hire is a risk, I'll give you that. But from what I've seen thus far, we've got absolutely nothing to lose. I honestly don't think it could get any worse but it could get a whole lot better.

Really? Couldn't get any worse?

How about losing to Montana?

Or losing Kiffin right before NSD? And having his Asst's calling our commits and suggesting they reconsider?

The Clawffense?

Wow...you guys are really taking this hard.

Ya ill take one more suck year and a SUPERBOWL winning coach over who knows how many years struggling to be mediocre with Dooley. As said before, we beat UGA and USCe I might think about letting him stay.

<whew>...thanks

Damn straight. This team had a prime opportunity to get a win over a banged up FLA squad and folded. There was no reason to lose that game. None

We're talking about results here. It's all about WINS. All you people that THINK we have a good coach throw everything out there except what matters most, WINS or even any kind of improvement and there's not even any of that. You make every excuse in the book and continue to be in denial for some reason. Wake the hell up, change isn't always a bad thing.

I supported phil until he got lazy with recruiting and everything the last straw was losing to wyoming  I supported kiffin saw what he was doing with the program...now I support DD and can see where the program is heading which is back towards the top

he was fired before the wyoming game which lead to the defeat. seriously, can you just quit typing.? how are we headed to the top? did you watch the game saturday? have you watched the last 6-7 sec games where we fold after halftime? headed to the top?? your IQ is the same number as dooley wins over sec teams not named vandy.

I was all for moving on in '07...Loved CPF and appreciate all he did, but it was time. So I am not opposed to change at all.

I just don't think it is rational to call for CDD's head this week. Our talent level was HORRIBLE...couldn't sign enough players fast enough to even have warm bodies.

Weren't we turned down by several big names before we hired Dooley? Why? Not money, but because the program was such a train wreck that the big names knew it would take longer to rebuild than the fans would be willing to wait... and here we are.

Just when you think it can't get any dumber, VolMax comes in with his Simple Jack impression

The Chicken Little's hollering "FIRE THE COACH" might want to rethink their position. Looking at where we were talent/roster wise and the guys Dooley has had to dismiss, I don't hear what I think is a legitimate argument for firing him.

"WE WANNA WIN NOW, DAMMIT!" or "VOL FANS DESERVE BETTER!" are not rational nor intelligent reasons to fire Dooley.

I do not think challenging my intelligence is justified.

How about giving me an intelligent, well thought out justification for firing Dooley? Can you do it?

There's 1.8 million reasons to get rid of a guy who:

1. is 4-13 against the SEC during his tenure here
2. is 13-15 overall during his tenure here
3. can't get his team to play 4 qtrs

He's paid to win football games, period.

I mean, it really shouldn't come as a surprise that he's in over his head. What do you expect from a guy who was 17-20 in the WAC?

I would, but someone beat me to it. 4-13 and 13-15 are all the justification you need.

And I do think that challenging your intelligence is justified, unless you can give me an intelligent, well thought-out justification to not challenge your intelligence.

I was holding out hope and giving DD the benefit of the doubt until Saturday. To me, that was the big game he need to win to show he can do it. It’s not like UF is the best team in the east. They are probably the third best team in the east and maybe the 5th best team in the conference. To be “back”, we should have won that game at home. After that second half meltdown, I don’t think there is any chance of us even coming close to beating UGA, USC and Bama. I don’t think we can beat State or Mizzou either. It wouldn’t shock me if he loses control of this team (particularly Bray), and we end up with 4 or 5 wins. We don’t have any resolve. I have no confidence in this team. I believe he is gone.

I'm sorry that you are in denial. Do you enjoy being a bottom feeder in the SEC?

1. We are only 1 SEC game into 2012. The first 2 years, we were too undermanned to compete - OK, I will give you KY.. Never should have lost that game, but that is the only one.

2. See answer to 1.

3. D was fatigued from too many 3 and outs and we lack quality/experienced depth. Miscommunication/blown assignments on 4 plays does not tell me they quit. The TB intentional grounding was a killer... I don't think you can say TB quit...he wasn't terribly sharp the whole game.

Remember, we got turned down by guys Hammy would have rather hired...we were in such bad shape we were considered lepers to higher profile coaches.

emainvol,

Did you expect us to be competitive in Dooley's first and second seasons?

I expect us to be competitive every season. I don't care if a 10 year old child is out there coaching. We are flipping Tennessee. We better show up even if we have a roster full of 1* recruits.

What does that have to do with Dooley's ability as a head coach? Other than he was on down the list.

And at this point in process has little to do with him losing or keeping his job.

Another coaching change would only put us that much further back. Is Dooley the next Saban? Maybe not, but even if we got a (delirious) fantasy coach like Grudin or Cowher, it would still take another year or two to compete.

then why the hell not get started?

emainvol,

no not really. nor in his third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, ....

this is the sec. dooley is being paid big boy bucks and producing a lousy product. as sgt. hartman would have said, "he doesn't pack the gear..."

It goes to the point that we were so pathetic, I believe it is unreasonable to call for CDD's head 3 games into his 3rd year.

Give Dooley credit for the situation being a heck of a lot better than it was when he took the job. If y'all get your way, the next guy will have it a lot easier.

Losing to KY is a fireable offense to begin with but I'll spare you that. The bottom line is he (and his staff) are being outcoached. You could have used the excuse of depth/players his first season but that team went 3-5 and tied for 3rd in the SEC East.

The reality is that miscommunication and blown assignment ultimately fall on the coaching staff. There was no reason to lose to FLA on Saturday. None. Instead, we got behind, Bray's immaturity showed it's ugly face once again, and the entire team folded. That's the coaches fault plain and simple. If your team "runs out of juice" when playing a rival you haven't beaten in 7yrs (in your house), on prime time tv that's a coaching problem any way you slice it.

The program was a disaster when Hamilton was looking for another coach but that has more to do with his stupidity than anything else. He should have been smart enough to know not to pull the trigger on a coach unless you've got something bigger and better waiting.
