Myth that the SEC is bad this year

I never would have guessed we'd have half of the final four last year

I was surprised at the talent level I saw at the SEC tournament a year ago. I thought it was the best collection of players spread throughout the league since '96, when we coincidentally also had two final four teams.

The only way Vanderbilt makes the Elite Eight is if 56 teams arrive at tournament sites next Thursday and Friday and decide to forfeit.

If Vandy is a 6 seed, that means they are regarded by the committee as top 24. Why can't they do one or two columns better than that if things break the right way for them?

I respect your opinions on the subject as you are quite knowledgeable, but perhaps you don't need to be so dismissive?

Why are Iowa, South Alabama, and DePaul on a what is apparently supposed to be a list of quality wins?

If Vanderbilt is a 6 seed, that means they are likely to play a 3 in the second round. If the committee places a team in one of the top 12 seeds capable of losing on a neutral floor to the Commodores, they should be embarassed. If they assign a 2 seed to team capable of losing a Sweet 16 game to Vandy, they should be dismissed from their duties.

Seems like almost every year a 2 seed either loses or comes to losing in Round One. I haven't watched for how 3 seeds fare, but my suspicion is that on average close to half of them are gone after the first weekend, i.e. at least one and often two.

usually can count on Arizona for that

i'm willing to bet Vandy is more like a 8 or 10 seed, even if they win a game or 2 in the SECT.

if you go look at their schedule, they have losses to furman and appy st, and their best win out of conference is against Ga Tech. their next best win is against Wake Forest.
