If I remember correctly, by the time McFadden started running the ball with success, the game was pretty well out of hand. I am getting older however.

He was still averaging yards per carry at a decent clip but Tennessee slowed him down a lot which was more than I ever expected them to do.

I figured McFadden would go for about 200+

YEah, me too. Really they slowed him down pretty decent in the 1st half, but then again there was some play calling that made me scratch my head.

Georgia isn't overrated at all. They will have a great team this year. I don't buy the Tebow excuse with his injured shoulder. He was still able to run in two TDs and he looked ok doing so. So, even if Tebow had been "fully" healthy? Wouldn't matter. Florida couldn't stop Moreno. Moreno had like 160 yards rushing that game and he was dragging tacklers all over the field.

Georgia wanted the game more than Florida. Georgia ran into the perfect storm in Knoxville. Some thought Fulmer would be fired right after that game if we lost. Not many teams can beat a Fulmer coached team at its best. We were that day. That game just goes to show how badly we underachieved (even with winning the SEC East). We got beat badly by two teams that Georgia beat (Florida and Alabama).

LSU will be the team that is most overrated this year. This is the year we really start to see the coaching ability of Miles. Almost every player on that team now is his.

Awful? Are you serious? That Auburn team did something we couldn't do as well and that's beat Florida and Alabama. Not many awful teams finish #2 in the country with an 11-2 record. Disagree with "awful"

Clearly they weren't awful, but you have to wonder how good a team really is when they lose to SC and were a fortuitous fumble away from losing to Vandy for the second year in a row, and got played tight by Troy.

I agree with that. They pulled together and I think there is something to be said for that. They kicked Auburn's arse and Auburn wasn't a bad team at all. Can't fault them for having to play Hawaii in the Sugar Bowl as most fans wanted to see them play USC in the Rose Bowl.

awful was too strong, but less than impressive is not.

Auburn was an awful offensive team, no two ways about it. Their D was OK.

I wasn't implying that at all ??? Out of everything I said , how did you come up with that response. If that's an insecurity you have I'm sorry. I spent 6 years in Athens, and 10 yrs later the university still gets a large sum of my money every year. I contribute and sponsor to their academic and athletic success in many ways. So, I wasn't comparing you to a bandwagon fan but to those that had never been to Athens much less knew who UGA was 5 years ago and had most certainly never experienced the life of living football of their favorite institution, I was talking about those that talk sh@t to other teams and insist on arguing with others about UGA not having the slightest clue. You created a disagreement and told me more info than I cared to know. Insert shoe in mouth.

But you make a good point, does the fact that I lived the university experience, contribute and back the program make me more of a fan than some guy that just likes his team because his dad l and grandpa liked them. I guess so, I have the pedigree and tax receipts to show for it, "at the very least it makes me part of something great.:good!:
Your apparently looking for something to do,,I suggest you do something better with your time -go watch Rudy! ;)

It's the body of work that matters, the team was excellent and not so excellent other days. It's a team sport, lots of factors. Something that is worth noting, much like in boxing a better athlete, even a smarter, or conditioned boxer can be beaten based on styles. I think your coach presents a tough style for UGA. Any thoughts?

I understand what you are saying, but I really can't see any part of Tennessee's game that would make their style more of a challenge than many other SEC teams that Georgia has had little trouble with in recent years.

They also needed OT to defeat 6-6 Bama and only managed 24 points against UK's defense.

We got blown out by Alabama when they were missing a few starters and their defense played better against UK than ours did.


They were a good team.

whole rep was based on beating UF and a really weak offensive team in AU.

Other than that, it was pansies, defeats or weak wins, including the bcs.

In fact, our worst team of the last 15, besides '05, housed them and beat them for the east crown. That's weak.

I have stated this several times and I am going to state it again. It doesn't matter if Georgia has Stafford, Moreno or lots of starters returning, I still think they crack under pressure and fall completely on their face. Remember what happened to Auburn in 2003? Remember what happened to Tennessee in 2005? I predict it happens to Georgia this year. They are getting all this hype, which I think is a bit overrated and they will completely blow up! I could be wrong, but I really feel like this is what will happen. I can't say I will be sad either!:)

Amazing. Guess the only way to get any respect from some on this board is to go undefeated.

11-2 and returning 18/22 starters from that team earns respect from me.

To say they aren't deserving of Top 5 hype is ludicrous.

That's the kind of stuff I am talking about. They deserve some of the hype, but the mileage they are getting out of beating Florida and blowing out a WAC team is a little crazy.

I can see it a bit. They started three freshman on the OL line last year. Moreno wasn't even the starter until midway through the year and he still rushed for 1,300 yards. Their defense played great after we beat them and they are bringing in another Top 5 recruiting class.

I just think returning 18/22 starters from a team that finished #2 is worthy of a good bit of hype.

I think we would be getting a good bit of Top 5 hype had we been able to hold on to the dang lead against LSU.

I'm not so sure about that. Beating an LSU team that was playing their backup QB wouldn't have been quite as sexy I don't think.

Actually they are returning 17 starters.

Were not talking about Top 5, we are talking about #1. And to say they are 11 teams better than UT in 2008 I think is ludricous. Actually we are #12 now according to Sports Illustrated, but that is after Crompton proved himself in the spring. We were like #23 before spring practice and UGA was #1 then also. I don't see us 22 spots below a team we spanked when we are also returning lots of starters.
