That's because he wasn't that good. Georgia fans built him up to be the next Herschel just like they are Moreno.

He won the Super Bowl ring sitting on the bench BTW. Here is his 2007 stat sheet.

Yeah, he's 5th behind...who? Herschel, Garrison Hearst, Lars Tate, and Rodney Hampton. Herschel played 3 years, what about he others?

Always amazed to hear comparisons like that after a freshman season.

I was at the game in Knoxville this past fall, and Moreno was the third best back in that game--after Arian Foster and Montario Hardesty.

Granted, it may just have been because our offensive and defensive lines manhandled UGA's.

By the way, Danny Ware was very much hyped fairly early in the season during his freshman year, until Gerald Riggs outshined him when we upset UGA in Athens in 2004.

UGA has a great tradition of running backs, and inevitably any freshman who shows promise has fans thinking of Herschel, et al, but let the kid prove himself a little more before you label him as a first round draft pick.

I'm not the one saying Moreno would get a lot of carries in a backfield that has two 1st round picks.

Moreno would have been lucky to get 50 carries at Arkansas last year.

Up until Brown was injured in the Tennessee game, Moreno had 8 more carries than Brown.

When Brown came back, Moreno only carried the ball more times than Brown once and that was against Auburn.

So is Thomas Brown better than Felix Jones too?

Moreno is a good back but I think people are starting to worship him a little too much already. I mean he has some good games but as of right now he is just a quality SEC running back right now. Against SC which had one of the worst rush defences in the country he had 104 yards. Yes that is a good game for him, but consider this, he had a 60 yarder on a missed tackle and then he had about 40 yards with an average of about 3.5 yards a carry. Hes no darren mcfadden just yet.

guys, I've posted here before, and I'm not a bandwagon fan, my first memories are watching Walker run over people when i was about 4, I'm a 2 time graduate of uga, having said that I love Tennessee football as well and the SEC in general, but I have to ask who's passing the smokes. Honestly, Tennessee has a much better team every year than most think and can obviously beat someone down if they don't bring their game (last year UGA was either just unprepared or completely psyched out, either way they got their asses handed to them and the lost, very obvious last year, the year before was just crazy, we were laying you guys out and then just a damn amazing performance from your QB to rally and basically set us on fire.
As far as bandwagon fans, zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, you guys have as many dumbass hick bandwagon never been to college fans as we do, I think UF actualy has only bandwagon fans :p Anyway, I'm usually skeptical about playmakers but I watched this kid play about 5 games last year and with out a doubt, he's something special. Maybe a little better than special. Fast and explosive, and he can push and drive his legs like he's on speed. Don't base his skill set on the performance he put on against you guys last year, your line dominated our Oline and well, it takes more than one guy. Danny Ware should not be in this discussion, not even in the same universe.

I think possibly Thor with the help of Wonderwoman could kick Tbow, Moreno, or Superman's ass but I'm not sure. :) To the gamecock, I wouldn't say that 104 yards is that great of a game for him, go back and look at his year, look at my last post about our Oline maturing, but who knows for sure, he may mature and become great, he may not. Let's wait and see. My thing is, it's easy for someone to say, oh yeah, UGA was awesome at the end of the year, they will be so great to begin the new year, but, I have no idea if that will carry over. The idea is to have a complete body of work all year, true UGA fans don't scream that we should have been in the national championship game. Even if we could have beat LSU to the end the eyar, we didn't put ourself in a position to do so, so the point is null. Besides, you need to win your title to even consider that. No SEC title, no chance, It wouldn't be right.
I'll know more about the team and moreno after a couple of games in the early season.

No you didn't he broke his collar bone the previous week. The fact that he practiced all weak and played until half time is pretty impresive to me.

What does going to college have to do with being a bandwagon fan? Are you saying that going to the university has something to do with your status as a fan? I don't know about Georgia but here in Tennessee, Vol football is a tradition handed down from generation to generation.
