Now Vols5150, I actually agree with you here. Everything you said in this quote is completely true. I know that many on here do not want to hear it because it sounds like we're trying to rain on everyone's parade. However I'm simply trying to look at the reality of the situation and not build on false hope. To be honest, I'm actually somewhat surprised that CLK was able to get commitments from BB and DO given our situation at QB and OL. Surely they both took that into consideration when choosing us. He must be one hell of a snake oil salesman.

Well, it depends on why you think he couldn't. If you think he couldn't because he isn't competent as a recruiter then I think you are wrong. CLK and staff has clearly demonstrated that they can flat out recruit. If you think he couldn't because of how late of a start he got on recruiting, then I MIGHT agree with you. However, it seems strange that he was able to go in and get all of the skill players late, yet could not seem to get any lineman. QB I understand because that's a little different. A real relationship has to be established between the player and the recruiter and there was simply no time.

Now see this is where you lose credibility. As fiercely as you criticize some on here for being overly optimistic about CLK you are equally wrong in being just as pessimistic. The bottom line is that we simply don't know right now and no one should pretend to be clarivoyant enough to think they can see the future of our program with any certainty.

Since LK was hired, this "falsehood" has been propagated in attempt to help justify his hiring. Now I'm sure that the excuses will be flowing in an attempt to put a smiley face on what happened today, but when Mississippi State out recruits you, you're just not that good. LK was never a "great recruiter" as was evident today. I received alot of grief when I said as much when he was first hired. Unfortunately, there are many more falsehoods about LK's abilities that will evident this spring, and (more importantly) this fall.

Sad day to say the least. And for all that want to bring PF into this, please spare us.........LK owns this class. Congrats LK.

Six of this years class were OL or DL line. I am not sure what you have a problem with. Was it the guys selected, number of guys selected, or what? Who did you want that we did not get?

After getting two top ten players - only Georgia out gutted us for Charles - you find fault with CLK in a situation that CPF left us with. In your words "Seriously?"

To continue to harp at this point is pointless and makes you look addled. I would rather hear your complaints during season when we are not beating teams by enough points.

5150 is just whining because he can't watch Phil lose on Saturday's anymore. Look, Phil was a great ambassador for the school, and I would love to see him back in some capacity, just not as the coach. He had made the program stale and recruits knew it. Kiffin has brought excitement to the program, and Lord knows we needed it. Just quit awknowledging the sour grapes, and 5150 will go whine in somebody elses forum and we won't have to listen to it anymore.
