Exactly! There is nothing untrue about what he is saying. I don't really care if it hurts someones feelings or not. To all those people who are saying hes being arrogant, wash that sand out of your vagina and quit being such a pussy.
:eek:hmy:

and to the guy asking when the last time MSU was decent, it was when we beat them in the SEC CG before we won the NC in Tempe.

and I don't have a problem with CLK's quote...it seems sometimes he can be a little tactless...but I really don't give a $#!t...for years I've had to put up with all the rest of the SEC coaches saying tongue and cheek things about my school and now that we're saying it back I could care less if anybody feewings aw getting huwt.:cray:

When they finished 8-5?

Yeah...that's as good as it gets in Starkville.

MSU - 75 years of SEC football, one championship, none since 1941. Can't believe there are fans who care enough to actually post on a message board.

Everything I've seen ,read or heard about Kiffin since he's been here reasons me to think that we got what Mike Hamilton wanted a "football coach" he's not here to be anybody's friend or buddy he was hired to do a job and like it or not it's "Earnhardt Law"at it's finest lead, follow or get the hell out of the way !!!! GO VOLS

MSU fans talking about an average football team....hell, when was the last time they saw a team as good as "average" wearing maroon?

I guess if anyone knows what mediocrity looks like, it's someone in Starkville.
Miss St. wishes they were mediocre.

Might as well get used to everyone in the SEC hating us, we hate them, and were on our way back to the top, even more fuel to the fire.

So long as he produces I have no issue with the quote. I kinda like it.

As for Richt, I do not buy the manure everyone seems to pitch on this guy. His actions contradict his reputation.

MSU is hurting with the fact Ole Miss is the team in that state again. I cut them a little slack since they let Nutt take over their state. :eek:lol:

"Miss. mistake" calling us mediocre is about as funny as Bammers calling us cheaters. I find it the equivalent of Spurrier whining about getting the score run up on him a few years ago when he did the very same thing while at UF. That said, I truly hope that CLK can back up what has been said as well as done so far. I for one believe he and his staff can. GO VOLS!!!!

Maybe so, but I honestly hope that he has his sights set on UA and UF. It's time to get back on the porch with the big dogs baby!!!

Yeah, OK.. So I stole a line from Patrick Swayze...

Not bad advice though.

1. Never underestimate your opponent. Expect the unexpected.

2. Take it outside, never start anything in the bar unless it's absolutely necessary.

3. Be nice.

Those are very good rules. Just don't start quoting Dirty Dancing.

I think that CLK is just using right now to spark fire into the fans again. He knew when he was hired just how many people didn't want him (I was one of them, I would have preferred Brian Kelly or someone with previous college HC experience). But, I have been keeping up with everything so much, and CLK has me personally excited. And it's not because it's arrogant. Arrogancy would be claiming that we're a great team when we suck, and well, we don't know that yet. Arrogancy would be saying that we're going to win because he is the best coach and he is going to make everyone better...he hasn't said that.

What he HAS said...is that we are a team with great tradition, and that he expects to uphold that. He HAS said that he knows the college game is different, but he is going to bring in coaches that are PROVEN to coach well, and recruit well. Saying they are the best in the country is something that could probably be backed up by SOMEBODY. You can't deny that they are extremely good at what they do, but are you going to say "Yeah....these guys are alright, but I'm sure that there was someone else that we didn't get who would be better. We'll settle." Whatever. Apparently, they're the best that he needed for what they do.

I like the way he is doing things. He is saying "I've got a system. I've got the coaches. I'm going to get the players. We're going to make Tennessee a place where people want to play. It's going to work."

He didn't promise immediate success. He didn't promise we would land every top recruit. He didn't promise we would beat everyone next year. He didn't say we are the best....but we are definitely going to try to be the best, and we are going to beat the best, and we're going to work hard.

I like how Bruce Pearl approaches things. I think he's a great coach, but he's extremely humble. He is very quick to point out how good a team is and how good they are going to need to work to win, and after games, he is very quick to say how well the other team played, and how well a certain player played. But he also will admit that we have great talent, great players, and great potential when we live up to it. I think CLK is just saying "look, we got great players, we got great coaches, and we got great potential, and we're going to live up to it. And when we do, we're going to be very very hard to beat."

Keep preachin Kiffin. You converted me.

It feels so good to finally be the one the other teams are saying oh **** about. As was said before we got our swagger back. Someone ship this team some old spice ASAP!

Behold the sword of Monte......look whose laughing now...hahaha...Tennessee

One thing that really surprised me when reading the comments was Kiffin's statement that

"not only do we have the best recruiters in the SEC but some of the best in the country. Two of the coaches (Orgeron in 2004 and Thompson in 2008) have been recognized as the Rivals.com National Recruiter of the Year. It was imperative to not only find great recruiters but great recruiters that knew the conference. To be able to take South Carolina’s recruiting coordinator, Mississippi State’s recruiting coordinator, Alabama’s best recruiter and Auburn’s best recruiter over the past 10 years was a great accomplishment for us. Once again, I would like to thank Mike Hamilton, the athletic department and our donors for making this possible.”

This IS a very arrogant statement that is unnecessary. Actions speak louder than words and, in this case, his hiring of such a great staff should have been sufficient. While I am glad that we've got a coach who's not scared to to go toe-to-toe with Spurrier, Meyer, and Miles with innuendo trashtalk, each of those guys has a record of success on the field. Maybe I'd just prefer it if Kiffin would lay off statements like that for about a year.

It's just the truth....

Attaboy Frank. I am sure he’ll be kickin himself in the arse in two years when he’s on the way to pick up his unemployment check. Doesn’t he know that kiffin doesn’t even have to lose to get fired?

I’m not going to slam the guy for taking the ut job. So what? He was with us for a month. Kiffin acts like he got something special from us. Kiffin is no proven coach and ut is in the same boat as MSU as headcoachs go. No head coaching experience at the college level and basically has to prove himself. One thing is for sure, if he thinks working for Al Davis was pressure then he has a rude awakening coming. The first losing season at ut will have the vol nation calling for his head. I can’t wait to see them stink this coming year. Especially since I live up here among them.

they walk among us
